At Kellis Eye Center we offer comprehensive vision services: optometry, cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma evaluation & treatment, retinal care, and an optical shop. Kellis, a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon. Dr. Kellis has over 25 years of experience in his specialties and has performed over 75,000 eyelid, oculoplastic, and facial plastic

procedures. He is one of only several surgeons in the country to use the CO2 laser. Dr. Kellis recently trademarked the Kellis Laser Lift®, which considerably minimizes bruising, swelling, and recovery time for eye lid surgery (blepharoplasty). His associate Dr. Gene Aidan Johnson is also fellowship-trained in these techniques. Dr. Kellis has been peer-recognized as a top ophthalmologist by Cleveland Magazine for each of the past nine years. He was also recently selected by US News and World Report as one of the top ophthalmologic and oculoplastic surgeons in America. Six years ago, our administrator, Maria, lost her beloved husband, Dr. Steven Takacs, to ALS. What is ALS? It is a progressive disease in which a person’s brain loses connection with the muscles, slowly taking away their ability to walk, talk, eat and eventually breathe. There is still no real treatment or cure.
The ALS Association supports families by providing resources, tools, education, etc. Each year following the passing of Dr. Takacs, his family hosts a 5K Race honoring Dr. Takacs, whose wit, compassion and dedication to the community has touched so many lives.

This year, the staff at Kellis Eye & Laser Center is helping Maria and her family meet their goal to raise $25,000 for the ALS Association. Our staff donated items to create baskets to help raise money for this worthy cause. Baskets are located & displayed in the office lobby.

Tickets can be purchased in the office at the front desk, 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. Drawing will take place May 29th.

Please consider purchasing tickets to win a basket, signing up for the 5k Run or 1 mile Fun Run or donating in honor of Dr. Takacs by visiting the race website.
