some stories are too sacred to try to explain.

We don’t really have language for them,
but there is peace

this one holds a mother, my dear friend
walking through the unimaginable in motherhood.

in the NICU, she learned her daughter
had a rare genetic condition
Citrullinemia Type 1 (CTLN1)
a disorder that affects the body’s
ability to process ammonia.

and in a moment, everything changed…
she was faced with decisions that no
parent should ever have to make make

and still
in the middle of it all
there was peace

not the kind that makes sense
not the kind you can explain
but the kind that holds you steady
when everything else feels like it’s falling apart.

for the ones who have been questioned in their grief
or had to make choices others didn’t understand…

God sees
He holds
and He is near 🤍

Wait… what’s my name again?
Not literally.

But in that quiet way
of wondering why you
don’t feel like yourself anymore.

you feel off.
a little empty.

Just not… you.

And no one really talks about this part
the part where nothing is falling apart
but something isn’t right either.

So you try harder.

But really,
you don’t have to earn your seat.
You already have one.

And I know that might not be how it feels.

you’re still showing up…
you’re doing all the right things…

and yet

you feel tired.
a little empty.
maybe even a little hangry in your faith.

So you try harder.
Show up better.
Fix what feels off.

But what if the problem isn’t your effort?

What if you’ve just been living like a guest
in a place you already belong?

Like you have to prove you deserve
a seat at a table that was never
based on your performance.

But you’re not a guest.
You’re not an outsider.

You’re not someone hoping to be invited in.

You’re a daughter.
And daughters don’t audition
for a seat at the table.

They sit down.

They’re known.
They’re named.
They belong.

You’re not behind.
You’re not disqualified.
You’re already seated.

if your soul is hungry…
and somewhere in the tiredness,
you forgot who you are

Then this weeks episode of
Wildly Hopeful is for you
🎧What’s My Name Again?

Maybe you’re not lost.
Your soul needs nourished.

And be reminded,
your name is daughter. 💕

Being overwhelmed doesn’t mean you lack faith.🤟🏼⚡It might just mean you’re human in an overstimulated world. Many of you are silently drowning under smiles and the worn out line of “I’m fine.” Statistics back this up.

Barna research tells us that Christian women report significant emotional exhaustion, especially those deeply involved in church life, motherhood, ministry, and service.

This isn’t because women are weak.

We are loading ourselves down with more than we can carry. We are consuming more than we were ever meant to carry-emotionally, spiritually, mentally. Burnout isn’t a character flaw.
It’s information. And our bodies are keeping the score.

On today’s episode of eighth & GRACE we dive into why I am declaring this month as Gentle January, and if I were a betting woman, I’d bet it’s not why you would think. We have to protect our peace + our nervous system.

Last episode, we talked about contentment, not as settling, but as staying present with the life God has already given us. And Gentle January flows directly from that. This is our Soft Girl Era. Because we cannot live content- truly content, in a dysregulated body. If your nervous system is constantly
on high alert, peace feels impossible... even when your theology is solid.

So today, we’re clarifying what our ‘soft girl era’ actually is, and what it absolutely is not. And we’re grounding it in wisdom, Scripture, and yes ma’am- actual science.

Soft. Strong. Brave. Steady.

Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything right… and still wondering where God went?

You’re reading the Word.
Showing up in your calling.
Trying to be faithful.
But inside? It feels quiet. Hidden.
Like the wilderness swallowed your purpose and forgot to leave a map.

This week on eighth & GRACE, I’m joined by -a leader, pastor’s wife, and mom, born in Honduras, raised in Miami, and rooted in her Nicaraguan heritage.
A true mosaic of culture and calling.

Kristel shares her story of identity, formation, and what it means to walk with God through dry, unseen seasons. To keep trusting when the ground beneath you feels barren. To keep showing up when heaven feels silent.

For the woman who feels stuck between the
miracle and the mundane
The one who’s tired of pretending she’s fine.
The one who’s questioning, but still showing up.

And if you’ve ever felt overlooked, underqualified,
or unsure…
this episode is for you.

Kristel knows the wilderness well.
And she’s not here to give you formulas.
She’s here to offer presence.
Spirit-filled hope.
And a reminder that the wilderness isn’t a dead end—
it’s holy ground.

She offers this gentle, Spirit-whispered truth:
You are not lost in the wilderness.
You are being led.
Even here. Even now, He is making a way.

Sometimes a swipe of lipstick is a battle cry that says, ‘I’m still here. Hope still fits me.”
And getting dressed when you feel defeated is a resurrection act all by itself.

You ever have one of those weeks where your body’s present, but your soul feels three paces behind?

Oh, hello-this week
This week’s solo episode of eighth & GRACE is a sacred space for the woman who’s too tired to try but too faithful to quit.

We’re reclaiming summer as a season of soul- restless hustle, more healing.
Less perfection, more presence.
More Jesus.

Let this be the summer you slow down, wear the swimsuit, take the picture, plant the flowers, and meet the new friend. The summer you remember that rest isn’t weakness, it’s worship.

Hey friends, it’s Friday- Good Friday and that means the launch of lunch time bite- size snacks are here!

Welcome to the very first episode of What About This? - your new go-to for real, unedited, unfiltered, off-the-cuff convos that meet you right in the middle of your day.

And what better way to begin than on Good Friday?

This day is tender. Heavy. Holy. It’s the day love didn’t run. The day mercy stayed. The day Jesus bore it all, so we wouldn’t have to.

In today’s episode, we’re slowing down long enough to ask: What makes this Friday good? Not just in theory, not just in theology- but in our actual lives, in our mess, in our waiting, in our wondering.

I’ll take you with me into my own story, how Good Friday used to feel distant and confusing, and how grace began to reframe everything. We’ll look at the weight of the cross, the depth of Jesus’ sacrifice, and the unshakable hope that still rises from the darkest of places.

Here’s what we’re covering:
When sacrifice looks like love
How grace changes the way we view suffering
Why hope is still possible—even when everything feels broken
The love that held Him there
And the wild beauty of a Savior who said, “It is finished” so we could finally begin

You’ll also hear some life updates, like a quick trip to Nashville, how the book proposal is coming along, and a podcast interview with someone really special to me… my mom. Plus a few thoughts on how to keep your heart anchored as we head into Easter weekend.

“Good Friday is good because the cross made a way. Not just for eternity, but for today, for every broken piece in need of healing, every weary heart in need of hope.”

So grab your coffee, breathe deep, and come sit with me. Let’s remember together. Because even in the weight of this day… the story isn’t over.

This is What About This? And we’re just getting started.

You can listen in anywhere you stream your podcasts. 🎧💜

Ever feel like life just gets hard and MESSY sometimes? Because, girl - ME TOO.

Welcome to the Eighth & Grace Podcast.
I’m Brandy. Daily, I delicatly juggle and balance being a mama, wife, nanna B, seminary student, writer, Bible teacher, coffee re-heater, and recovering overthinker. Also, going on 16-years of being a Nurse Practitioner. So when I say l’ve seen messy, I reallyyyy mean it.

But, the physical body can sometimes be a lot easier to treat than the emotional and spiritual aspects of our body. You see the pain, most of the time, you can fix the pain.

Our faith and emotions aren’t quite so obvious.
After walking alongside women through the high and hard seasons of life, I wanted to create a grace space for messy faith - so we can all know we aren’t alone and be singing GIRL ME TOO collectively. We are in this TOGETHER!

Life is hard. AND you’re covered in grace. Life is complicated. AND you can still hope again. Both can be true and I want to stand with you as I remind us that God is still good. Even when this world is broken.

eighth & Grace is a hub for broken vessels so we will be covering everything from the mundane moments of everyday life, to faith & fashion (because who doesn’t love a good pair of jeans, comfy joggers, & Jesus?

This is our space, for self exploration and clinging to our hope while holding onto the thread of His garment.

Girl, you’ve got a place here. And I’m so honored to be part of your journey. Let’s grow together.🩷💕

Thank You for the year of Release Lord:
Release of the Witness 🙌🏻❤️🙌🏻

Witnesses of Hope Arise ⛰

2022 in the Strongs Concordance
means Mountain - Hill

We are walking into 2022,
Speak to the mountain in a valley place.

It is time for A Witness to Arise.
Witnesses of Hope arise from ashes of fear.
It is not time for us to remain silent.
We are living in the decade of “Pey- the decade of the open mouth.”
The enemy wants you to remain silent and he has been silencing you through fear.
It is time for the voice of the Son of God to rise above the noise.
“The Testimony of Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy”
Revelation 19:10
The story is to tell of HIM🙌🏻

Today, I challenge you to be a witness to someone from exactly where you are in this moment.
Witness while in waiting.
Let your voice arise from fear. Praise your way through the valley.
Speak to the mountain⛰
Let us rejoice and let the enemy be scattered!

The valley place will be exalted and the mountain will be made low.
It is obtainable. It is the Word of the Lord🙌🏻

“Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”
Isaiah 40:4-5

I encourage you to witness to someone, to anyone, as many “One’s” as you can see.
Be a witness to yourself-by your testimony you will overcome.
Witness, call upon the wind to bring life to dead places From the North, the South, the East, and the West.
Call it forth - we know it works- just ask Ezekiel about the valley of dry bones where new life sprang forth with the wind- the breath of God🙌🏻

Witness. Call it forth. Bring Heaven to earth.
We are called to be the light of the earth
even in a dark place.
Let your light shine and Praise God in the dark place.
Witness today and Praise Him from the depth of the valley.
Praise Him in a valley place, from a place, where finding a praise isn’t easy.
We have got it down to Praise Him when it’s easy and we are on top of the mountain.
We’ve got it down because It is easier for us to witness to others and be a light when we’re on top of the mountain and it’s not standing in our way.
Can you praise Him and be a witness in the valley of a desperate place?
When you’re on the mountain and life is great it is easy to tell of His goodness and speak of His Love, His Mercy, and His Grace.
You can witness When you’re healthy and strong in your body.
When Finances are abundant and ends are being met.
When marriages are strong and full of love.
When children are walking in the Will of God
When minds are sound..
It is not as easy to Praise God in the valley because you can’t see past the hill.
It is not as easy to Praise God in the storm when you can't see past the waves.
I want to encourage you sweet friend to hold on, remain steadfast.
Stand, when having done all to stand…..
Stand.
Land is in sight.
Praise Him and be a witness when it is not easy to witness.
Witness to others when you're in the valley and in the storm and you've lost all sight of what you are praising him for.
It takes faith to be a witness when you have to ask yourself how you are going to be a witness when you need a witness yourself.
Be a Witness when you need someone to be a witness to you.
Give encouragement when you need encouragement to help you want to get out of bed..
Witness when your marriage is hanging on by thread and seems to be fueled by anger and love seems dead.
Witness when your children are not walking in the Will of God..
Witness when your finances are worse than they've ever been and you don't know how you are going to make ends meet.
Witness when you feel lost and fearful and your mind feels less than sound..
Beloved, behold.. there is a lighthouse in the storm.
The light is shining and guiding the way to land
Even if that land seems like it will be another valley before the mountain.
Look up. Seek His face.
Praise Him.
Witness with all your heart.
Remember, those on the mountain had to first go through the valley to get there.
Witness. Call it forth.
Speak life into your situation.
Speak life into someone else's situation.
Witness to another and see your situation begin to change.
speak to faith..
The Living word says it takes only the faith of a mustard seed..
Hebrews 11: 1-3
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Hope for the substance and have faith until the evidence is seen.
Be a witness to yourself until your perspective changes.
Witness to your health and have hope you have been made whole.
Witness to your finances and have hope they are blessed- good measure shaken together pressed down and running over.
Witness to your marriages in faith -
they are renewed and restored.. perfect love cast out all fear..
Praise God and know that your children know the voice of the Shepherd- they will follow him.
Witness to your mind and know that you have been given a sound mind and made more than a conqueror in Jesus Christ..

Be a witness through fear. Faith will arise.
God doesn’t dismiss our fear-He delivers us from it, from all of our distresses.

Today, be the Witness of Hope
Witness like your life depends on it.. you never know.. whose just might💙
1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
