Longtime THOL supporter sent us this photo.

When the Ranky Tanky Sweetgrass Rugby went live, he was the very first person to purchase one. Later, he sent us this picture back.

At first, we saw the rugby.

Then we saw the bigger picture.

We saw a young man standing at the beginning of a new chapter. A chapter filled with opportunities, challenges, lessons, growth, and possibilities that haven’t even revealed themselves yet.

The world will try to convince you to play it safe. To think smaller. To settle.

Don’t.

Your dreams are valid. Your voice matters. Your future is still being written.

But this photo reminds us of something else.

None of us get there alone.

Behind many Dream Merchants is someone who made room for the dream. Someone who encouraged instead of discouraged. Someone who believed instead of doubted. Someone who created the space for a young person to grow into who they were meant to become.

That’s a gift.

To the graduate: dream boldly, stay curious, keep the faith, and never let fear stand between you and who you’re meant to become.

And to the Dream Facilitator standing beside him: thank you for showing up. Thank you for pouring in. Thank you for helping create an environment where dreams can grow and futures can take flight.

The greatest gift you can give a young person isn’t always advice.

Sometimes it’s belief.

Thanks love ❤️ for the love and the 💡.

🖤❤️💚 COLUMBIA, WE’RE PULLING UP. 💚❤️🖤

Join The House of Langston this Friday, June 19th at Juneteenth on the River as we celebrate freedom, culture, and the dreams that refuse to die.

We’ll be bringing pieces from our UHURU Collection — inspired by the Swahili word for freedom — along with our signature affirmational streetwear created for Dream Merchants everywhere.

Because freedom isn’t just about where we’ve been…

It’s about having the courage to become who we’re meant to be.

The UHURU: 1865 Tee began with a question:

What if there had been an underground publication during slavery?

Who would have graced the cover?

As we developed this piece, we discovered the story of Renty Taylor—an enslaved man photographed in 1850 in images used to support racist theories of human difference.

What we discovered next was that Renty’s story did not end there.

Through our research, we connected with his descendant, , whose fight to reclaim her ancestor’s image and legacy reminded us that some dreams are worth protecting across generations.

That’s Dream Merchant work.

The UHURU: 1865 Tee isn’t just about remembering the past.

It’s about honoring resilience, protecting legacy, and imagining a future beyond limitation.

This is what freedom looks like.

If Renty’s story resonates with you, we encourage you to learn more about Tamara Lanier and the work she’s doing to preserve and protect her family’s legacy.

Who is

Ranky Tanky is a two-time Grammy Award-winning group whose music celebrates and preserves the culture of the Gullah people of the southeastern coast.

Their journey inspired the Ranky Tanky Sweetgrass Rugby and Ranky Tanky Tee.

The Sweetgrass Lion pays homage to one of the Lowcountry’s most enduring traditions and the generations who preserved it.

In many ways, Ranky Tanky has done the same through music.

They carried culture from their community to the world stage without losing sight of where they came from.

That’s Dream Merchant work.

That’s what these pieces celebrate.

Freedom looks like preserving culture.

Freedom looks like honoring your roots.

Freedom looks like protecting your dreams.

WHAT DOES FREEDOM LOOK LIKE?

The UHURU Collection is our reflection on that question.

The UHURU: 1865 Tee imagines what could have been—a fictitious underground publication reminding us of the enduring pursuit of freedom and possibility.

The Ranky Tanky Sweetgrass Rugby and Ranky Tanky Tee honor Dream Merchants who preserve culture and carry it forward. Inspired by the two-time Grammy Award-winning group , these pieces celebrate the resilience required to transform heritage into legacy.

As we approach Juneteenth, we’re reminded that freedom isn’t simply a historical event. It’s an ongoing pursuit.

Freedom looks like preserving culture.

Freedom looks like reclaiming legacy.

Freedom looks like protecting your dreams.

Our biggest takeaway from the Michael movie?

We went to be entertained.
We walked out with confirmation.

The movie showed Michael Jackson writing down visions, lyrics, ideas, and affirmations before the world ever heard them.

Before Thriller.
Before Billie Jean.
Before history.

He saw it first.

Michael once said he wanted to be the greatest entertainer of all time.

And somehow…
even after all these years…

he still is.

Little kids who weren’t even born during his lifetime still stop and stare when his videos come on.
Still imitate the moves.
Still study the magic.

That’s bigger than entertainment.

That’s vision.

“Write the vision, and make it plain…”
— Habakkuk 2:2

Michael wrote the vision and made it plain.

And now the vision has outlived the visionary.
The dream outlived the dreamer.

Dream.
Affirm.
Empower.

Protect Your Dreams By Any Means.

Now That’s Langston.

Cinco de Mayo isn’t just a celebration…

It’s a reminder.

In 1862, a smaller Mexican army stood against one of the most powerful forces in the world—and won.

Underdogs. Outmatched. Unshaken.

That’s Dream Merchant energy.

Protect Your Dreams By Any Means. 🇲🇽
Still here. Still standing.🦁

The Dream Merchant Tour continues.

We’ve been quiet… but we’ve been working.

Building with people who don’t just buy clothes—
they believe in something.

Every pop-up, every moment, every exchange…
reminds us why we started.

Because it never fails…
every event—someone taps back in.
A tear falls.
A story gets told.
A dream wakes back up.

That’s bigger than apparel.
That’s affirmation in motion.

To every Dream Merchant we met—
we see you. 🦁PYDBAM

This is how Langston pieces earn their stripes.

It always starts as an idea.
Then we make a prototype.
Then we take it outside.

Pop-ups. The kiosk. The mall.
Sometimes we’ll just sit a prototype there and watch. No pitch. No explanation. Just energy.

If people gravitate to it, we pay attention.

Choc n Max hate this part 😂
Because when folks fall in love, we gotta explain, “Nah… it’s just the prototype.”
And that’s usually when it gets loud. Then they point at me 👁️👁️

That’s how the Langston Concrete Jungle Expedition Safari Jacket (aka the Camo safari) was born.
Prototype went out. People went crazy.
We manufactured and sold out twice. It became one of our biggest sellers.

Fast forward to this moment.
Langston family.
Outside.. Gza concert
And I’m wearing a knit rugby prototype that doesn’t even have a name yet.

This one caused the most uproar we’ve ever seen.
Everybody wanted it.
Everybody tried to buy it.
And once again… “It’s just the prototype.”

But when people get that adamant, we already know.

This one is coming.
Soon. Limited pcs.

That’s the Langston process.
Let the people decide.
Protect the dream.
Now that’s Langston. 🦁
