Local artist doing her best to bring the fabric of the Low Country of South Carolina alive. Indigo is an integral part of Charleston, SC history. It is a sordid past; the enslaved people were responsible for the cultivation, care, harvesting, and producing indigo powder from the indigo plant. This labor produced millions of pounds of indigo powder exported from South Carolina in the 1700's. InDyeC

o of Charleston acknowledges the contribution of the enslaved. This school year, I am offering informative demonstrations to CCSD and Home School groups. The demonstration encompasses history, science, chemistry and fun.
