coventry blue is a local embroidery & custom vinyl application company based out of Charleston, SC. the coventry blue name is from a blue embroidery-thread originating in Coventry, England, in the middle ages. This thread was used to make blue cloth, which became the first blue denim material. the term ‘true blue’ is derived from the Conventry town dyers having a reputation for producing the blue

material that didn’t fade with washing; thus being acclaimed as being reliable; ‘fast’ or ‘true’. the phrase ‘as true as Coventry blue‘ originated then and is still used today; both here and in Coventry.
