I’ve been reading in Exodus about Joseph and this man was so FAITHFUL! I can’t imagine going through so much pain from being sold into slavery, being put in jail and forgotten about. Even though these things happen to Joseph, God did NOT abandon him.

Lately I’ve been struggling with perfectionism. I’ve been having a hard time creating because I’m scared I’m not good enough, and there will always be someone who’s better at it than me. So I self criticize myself. It’s stealing my joy. But, I’m thankful for God reminding me it’s ok to grow and it’s ok I’m not perfect. “I sent someone to redeem you and you are chosen.” It gives me peace to know I am flawed and still loved by a perfect Savior.

I stumbled across this scripture this morning in Ephesians 2:9 NLT, and it is so true! I can not earn right standing with God or salvation by my “good merits.” I can not “perform” my way into God’s heart. Because if that was true, I would not need Jesus. Therefore, I would not need the grace of God because I am “perfect.” Which is far from the truth.

Starting in verse 8 it mentions that “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And no one can take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” I needed this reminder. I needed grace.
