If you’re around next weekend, come by Charlestown Open Studios and see 3 floors of art! I have shibori scarves as well as some new felt tote bags, some of which incorporate bits of shibori-dyed silk, and hand-dyed silk and wool wraps.

I'm taking a short break from felting to try some shibori dyeing. It's a lot of fun and the results are just unpredictable enough to keep it interesting!

Getting ready for Open Studios at StoveFactory Gallery on Dec. 5 & 6. I'll have new shawls and scarves, some felt jewelry and a jacket or two.

Here's a new piece that includes both natural materials - wool, alpaca, silk - and manufactured items - glass beads, cotton thread and wire. There are also bits of sea glass - manufactured and then altered by nature. It's called Imperfect Harmony and expresses hope for our ability to live respectfully with nature.

Show weekend is off to a good start in spite of the terrible weather. I sold a piece last night a Art 100 and several scarves and shawls today at Open Studios. Art 100 is up for two weeks, Open Studios is on again tomorrow. Come by if you're around.
