Not all fabrics are created equal for DTF transfers.

Cotton = the gold standard. DTF loves 100% cotton. Vibrant colors, excellent durability.

Cotton blends = work well. 80/20 or 90/10 cotton/poly blends are great. Just watch for high polyester content (can cause color shift).

Hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets = perfect for DTF. Soft hand feel, colors stay bright.

What to watch for:
Synthetic fabrics (100% polyester) = colors shift, less vibrant
Stretchy fabrics = harder to apply, need extra care
Dark fabrics = lighter colors may need white base

Your file is killing your print quality. 🖨️

Most DTF issues start before we ever touch the machine.

Here's what we check every single time:

1. 300 DPI minimum
2. PNG with transparent background
3. Final size in inches

Get those three right and your transfer comes out clean, every time.

Wrong file format = rejected order or a print that doesn't look right.

Here's what we accept and what works best:
PNG (transparent background) = perfect for DTF
PDF = works great for most designs
AI/SVG = vector files, scalable, crisp edges
JPG = okay but not ideal (no transparency)

What to avoid:
Low resolution (under 300 DPI)
Compressed files that lose detail
RGB instead of CMYK (color shift)

Here's what your DTF file needs every single time:

✔ 300 DPI
✔ CMYK color mode
✔ Transparent background
✔ 0.125in bleed

Get these right and your transfer comes out crisp, vibrant, and press-ready.

Heat press settings matter. Get them wrong and your transfers crack, peel, or fade fast.

Here's the breakdown:
280-320°F is your sweet spot depending on fabric and transfer type
8-10 seconds for hot peel (most common)
Cold peel takes longer but works for delicate designs
Pressure matters too—you want firm contact without crushing the design

The difference between a transfer that lasts years and one that fails in weeks? Usually just a few degrees and a few seconds.
