Figuring out Whatnot while also keeping up with your other 9 non-live sale platforms = NOT for the weak ๐
This week on my 74-minute live show, I made 4 sales that came out to only $4.97 profit. UGH. Iโve been spending a lot of time feeling discouraged, watching successful clothing sellersโ live shows, & doing research, & here are the theories Iโve come up with. (If youโre also a live seller, let me know your thoughts!):
โจ The $1 Starts tag makes a big difference. Even if the items get bid up to $20, shoppers (as a generalization) want $1 starts. Not $3 starts that go for $3. Just $1 starts. As a new seller with a small audience, I canโt afford to start everything at $1 unless I have donated items, so Iโm gonna have to skip regularly doing this for now.
โจ The most successful non-$1 start shows in the clothing category right now seem to be Y2K/fairycore & premium athleisure (Lululemon, Alo, Vuori, etc).
โจ You need to pick a category or brand(s) that you sell & stick to itโat the same time on the same day every week to find & grow your audience. This is a tough one for me because I like to sell a little bit of everything!
With all of this being said, weโre going to be doing $3โ$10 Y2K + fairy (mostly random pulls) Tuesdays @ 2:30pm!! ๐ This is actually my favorite category right now, so Iโm excited to get started. I will try to start posting previews, & Iโll be pre-loading as many items as I can to each show if/when my schedule allows! ๐ฅฐ
Here are the questions I have/want to figure out going into this next week:
1. Do I need to find a different day/time to go live each week? I nanny every weekday day until 1pm+ & Iโd prefer to spend the times that my husband & I are both home with him/not working, so Tuesdays @ 2:30pm are just what worked best with my schedule!
2. Since I do like to sell a little bit of everything, can I also add on premium athleisure as something I sell to a different day of the week (even those itโs a TOTALLY different category than Y2K)? Those are obv 2 different audiences, which is what Iโm not sure about. As I grow my following, will I lose one audience if I add a different category to another day? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
