I've always felt compelled to make things with my hands. Handcrafting is in my blood and was passed down through my mother, father and maternal grandfather. I moved quickly from one medium to the next until I stumbled upon leather and literally became obsessed. Working with leather is my “north,” my life’s passion, my serenity, my joy.
The endless possibility of things you can make out of leather is so incredibly exhilarating to me. The resilience leather has over time, the durability, the way it literally lasts a lifetime - speaks profoundly to me in the "throw-away" era we live in today. And the level at which each item can be made custom and unique I find utterly fascinating.
Hour after hour of contemplation, research, training and experimentation with different types of leather and leather working tools; cutting, carving, tooling, stamping, coloring, dying, assembly, finishing, edging...hours of blood, sweat & tears later, here I go on my journey into sharing some of those things with ya'll here online.
