Please do NOT follow, ask questions, like, etc anything on this FB page. The Shoe Guys have been out of business since July, 2018. We have no more shoes or insoles left. The owner of the line died and Bob Baker, my beloved hubby & best friend died peacefully in his sleep March 12, 2024. The family who produced the footwear didn't go back into business making them. Hi Everyone!
I just got a text from Ronnie, the co-owner of Walk The Walk Shoes (who will be fulfilling your orders) about the status of the first sandal order.

As I feared, the manufacturer down in Mexico had an outbreak of Covid and they were forced to shut down for awhile. According to Ronnie, "Things are moving slower than anticipated but we will have sandals sooner rather than later."

Hi Everyone!
Here is the photo of the sandal that the new manufacturer sent of a size 38 slide. I got to examine and wear the pair and wow, what a sandal!!

The leather is soft and supple and the quality is evident when you feel it. The bottoms are both firm but soft too, not rock hard. It feels cushy rather than spongy or squishy. The footpad is also firm but the floating insole between the leather footpad and the polyurethane base is a little thicker so it adds to the comfort level as well.

These are not just great feeling sandals, they're EXCEPTIONAL feeling! I compared a new pair made 4 years ago to this one for feel, comfort, cushiness, firmness of the base, and just all around quality and attention to detail. These sandals are definitely superior to what the other manufacturer created. What makes them different also improved them. I upped my personal order immediately after walking in them!

Regarding pricing: the sandals in black or chocolate brown is going to be $160 (less than I thought) but there will be shipping. To save everyone money, we're having the owners of Walk The Walk Footwear ship directly to you from AZ when the sandals arrive.

You can still place orders as there will be some extras available for sale so call us right away at (828) 817-1615. Once a size and style sells out, your order won't be made until the next round. This wouldn't normally be an issue except for us being in a global pandemic with real problems in both the supply chain for materials and transportation to move the sandals from Guadalajara Mexico and AZ. FANTASTIC NEWS: The Shoe Guys are back in business!!!

That's right everyone, our beloved sandals are going to be made again! Sizes 37 to 44 will be available in all the sandal styles. Price is still to be finalized though $165 is close as that's what they were back 3.5 yrs ago.

We are putting in our first order on Saturday Oct 23rd. I was told to expect a 2-3 month wait because there are several things that still need to be dealt with but normally it won't be near that long from ordering to receiving them.

The tops will be identical to what you're used to as will the bases though they'll be a little bit firmer to make the bumps hold up better and last longer.

Our suggestion is to get a pair or two to see if they're what you remember, then load up. This may only be a window of opportunity vs a typical long lasting business as we're in the middle of a devastating global pandemic. Our footwear is being hand made in Guadalajara Mexico.

Right now, only black and chocolate brown leather will be available. A colored leather will be added in the spring.

So you have 12 days to call (828) 817-1615 and place your initial order. Though we're taking orders, we're not charging you until the actual time they're being sent. Anticipate them as a delayed holiday gift. Shipping will be free!

It's been awhile since I lasted posted on Facebook but wanted to keep y'all up to date on what's happening with your beloved sandals. I've been in contact with the not so new owner now and he has said that absolutely, positively we WILL be going back into production. I believe they're on the last adjustment to the sandals and then supposedly we'll be able to get the ball rolling on. Please don't give up hope and faith, apparently we're getting very close now. Hi Everyone!
I spoke with the owner of Walk The Walk footwear again and, according to him, they liked the sample the new manufacturer made and sent it back for some further modifications. They're waiting on the 2nd sample to arrive.

If all goes well, things will begin again. I don't know how long it will take or when this will happen but we're heading in the right direction to getting more of our beloved footwear again!!

One thing I have honestly learned throughout this process, throughout this pandemic, is take NOTHING for granted. Not a favorite item, a favorite restaurant, a person you love, a job you enjoy, good health, a lifestyle you've come to appreciate. It can disappear overnight, never to return. Hi Everyone!
It's Laurie from The Shoe Guys. Time to give a little hope so you don't think we've abandoned you. The new owner had received a sample pair from a new manufacturer and they're trying them out now in real world environments. They've noticed a couple of modifications that need to be made to the sandals and they'll then get a second sample to see how those modifications turned out.

Don't know how long this process will take or if for sure they'll be the quality we're looking for but so far, everything is looking pretty good.

Dearest friends and loyal customers of Walk the Walk footwear, the day has finally arrived that I have worked very hard to avoid for the past 3 yrs. The new owner of the line has informed me that the deal they'd had with the manufacturer in Southern Mexico has fallen through and now he's back to trying to find another manufacturer somewhere else.

Though I'm going to keep this page up, Bob and I are officially retiring from the shoe business. If he finds another place to make the footwear, I'll happily let y'all know about it. But in the meantime, I highly suggest you call (480) 315-1121 and take ANYTHING they still have in your size in stock. Ask to be put on their contact list as well.

Hi Everyone!
Here it is, almost Nov. 20th, and I should have been letting y'all know it's time to order your footwear. Welllll, welcome to the year of 2020.

The new manufacturer tried a more current method of creating the bases for our footwear with the same polyurethane but it didn't come out like we'd hoped. So it's the old way of producing them (more time/labor/polyurethane consuming) or they can't be made. Because of this, now there are some new considerations that have to be worked out between the owner of the footwear line and the owner of the manufacturing company in southern Mexico before production can begin.

Unfortunately, I just heard that the reason there's been a delay in this conversation is because the manufacturer's wife and daughter have been in the hospital with Covid for at least the past 2 weeks. In Mexico.

This is the world we all now live in. Fits and starts, closures due to rampant spread of the virus. Missing pieces in the supply or shipping chains across country borders. Delays because workers are sick, recovering, or can't work for many months. Nothing is fluid or smooth any longer

Please don't give up hope yet, we're trying our best in spite of how absolutely abysmal this pandemic is. We're not giving up on our end so please just stick with us for a little while longer while everyone tries to do business during these extremely difficult times. Hi Everyone!
The new owner of the Walk the Walk footwear line gathered 12 pairs of sandals, 1 in each size, and after great difficulty, they finally arrived at the new manufacturer in Leon Mexico. The new manufacturer is trying to see if they can create 1 set of molds that covers all the bases of the sandals and leather shoes PLUS the polyurethane clogs and full shoes. Previously it's been 4 different sets of molds, each having their own unique version of their size. We don't know if they can do this yet so I can't say for sure what will be offered other than the various styles of sandals. I also don't know when we'll be able to order but I'm hoping it'll be shortly.

BTW, there's been a rumor going around for a couple of years that hubby Bob Baker died. Good news, he's very much alive and in excellent health! Due to the virus, we won't do any sort of tradeshow again. That's not a problem though, about half our business was always done mail order and now will be 100% of it. I know that in the old days (say like, 2019), not everyone was comfortable with getting things sent to them. Hehehe, not do today. Why I resisted having every single item I purchase either delivered to my vehicle or my front door, I haven't a clue!

Finally, please don't give up hope on this amazing footwear, we're sooooo very close now to them being available again. I'm actually hoping to put the word out in the coming weeks that it's time to order. When I do, y'all will be CALLING in your orders at (828) 817-1615. Until then, stay safe and stay well......
