In 1957, 21-year-old Yves Saint Laurent attended Christian Dior’s funeral following Dior’s sudden death from a heart attack.

At the time, Saint Laurent had been Dior’s assistant since 1955, and Dior had named him as his successor.

Just days after the funeral, he was appointed artistic director of the House of Dior.

This marked a historic turning point in fashion—Saint Laurent’s first collection in 1958, the “Trapeze” line, launched his career and ensured Dior’s legacy continued through his vision.

Vintage 1950s halo hat/ fascinator with veil. Timeless style with exquisite details. Light brown mink and a glossy caramel satin bow. The veil has some small tears, as shown in the photos. Aside from the veil, the hat itself is in remarkable condition.
