A small business tale as old as time. 🍄💔
You arrive at the store and discover something broken. No one around. No note. No “hey, this happened.” Just the remains waiting for you to find them.
And yes — the mushrooms outside Hamlin are actually for sale. 🤩
We put them in the ground because that’s where mushrooms belong.
Things break. Kids are kids. Adults are adults. Accidents happen. We get it.
But here’s the thing:
Everything matters to a small business.
EVERYTHING.📢
Our merchandise. Our displays. Our space. Our time. The things we put outside to make a place feel special. The little extras we do simply because we want you to have a great experience when you’re here.
None of it is just there. Someone thought about it, paid for it, put it there, takes care of it and, eventually, has to pick up the pieces when something happens to it.
So please don’t take those things for granted.
The last time a kid broke one of our mushrooms, the parent didn’t say anything — but a bystander who witnessed it actually came inside and paid for it. Which was incredibly kind...and also made us think: wait. REALLY?! 😂
We don’t expect things to never get broken. We just expect people to tell us when they do.
That’s it. That’s the small business PSA.
