**The Global Lineage: Global Green & Japanese Global Pothos**

Some plants carry weight. Not in size, but in presence. Global Green and Japanese Global are two siblings from the same ancestral vine, each with entirely different magic.

**Global Green** wears its variegation like moss and shadow layered together. Deep, swirling greens that feel ancient and grounding. This is the earth-keeper: steady, protective, the kind of energy that whispers *you are safe to grow.*

**Japanese Global** is its sharper, more refined heir. The variegation is almost calligraphic: intentional, like brushstrokes on handmade paper. Where Global Green is the forest floor, Japanese Global is craft and precision.

It's also a true collector's plant. You won't find it on big-box shelves. It moves through hobbyists, small growers, and specialty shops. Limited production, strong demand, and a price tag that reflects both.

Its energy is a clarifier. A focus-bringer. A plant that says "let's cut through the noise."

Together they're depth + definition.
Earth + air.
Ancient + artful.

Two pothos. Two completely different personalities. One perfect pair.

Global Green is readily available in my space at The Whimsical Wren Co Store. Japanese Global will be available soon. I'm working on several propagations to eventually be released as well.

Hey GF peeps, we are in the process of making sure every plant that is going to come into our new location insideThe Whimsical Wren Co Store located at 1296 Battlefield Blvd. S. in Chesapeake is the healthiest most beautiful plant you will be taking home. Just working on some displays and fun things that will be coming in along with our plants. And I will also be creating one of a kind, moss poles, planters, and all sorts of decor to go along with your plants.

A little information as to what goes into our potting process.

🪴✨ From the Familiar’s Shelves ✨🪴

Manjula Pothos
Epipremnum aureum ‘Manjula’
A marbled whisper of wandering light and soft enchantment.

This cultivar carries the energy of gentle transformation. Its broad, wavy leaves swirled with cream, soft green, and deep forest tones look as though they were brushed by a patient hand. Each vine drapes with quiet confidence, bringing a sense of lived‑in magic to shelves, desks, and shadowed corners. A steady grower, thoughtful in its pace, and always ready to soften the edges of a space.

🔮 Care Rituals:
• Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light; tolerates softer, moody rooms
• Water: Allow the top half of the soil to dry—this one prefers balance over excess
• Humidity: Comfortable in average home air, but glows under a touch of added humidity
• Growth: A trailing, gently wandering vine; perfect for shelves, altars, or quiet reading nooks

🕯️ Whether you’re crafting a botanical altar or seeking a companion with a calm, marbled presence, Manjula brings a grounded kind of beauty.

Two medium starters are available now. Located at Vintage Vibe Home in the back right corner of “The Barn.”

Has this warmer weather made you want to go outside and Garden? I know it has for us. But it is still winter and one of the things that’s important to do is to take really good care of your indoor plants during this time as we turn on the heat or the fireplaces. Now that you’ve packed away all the Christmas decor now is a great time to go through and repot and refresh your indoor plants. Here at The Green Familiar we have all of the best soils, amendments and plant needs here inside The Vintage Farmhouse Repurposed located out in the barn at the Vintage Vibe Home located in Chesapeake Va.

Cinnamon is one of those simple household items that can actually help a lot with fungus gnats. There are two main types you will see sold in bulk. Cassia is the stronger, spicier cinnamon that most people in the US are familiar with. Ceylon is milder, sweeter, and often called true cinnamon. For plant use both work, but Ceylon is often preferred because of its antifungal properties.

Using cinnamon in a diffuser with oils like peppermint, tea tree, lemongrass, or geranium can help repel adult gnats. Cinnamon oil on its own is not the strongest in the air but blends well with others. Where cinnamon really shines is as a powder sprinkled directly on the soil. It reduces fungal growth, which is the food source gnats depend on. No fungus means no place for larvae to thrive.

If you want to build a layered defense, bottom water so the top of the soil stays dry, add a thin layer of cinnamon powder, and consider porous top dressings like lava rock or pumice to keep airflow moving. Pair that with a diffuser running peppermint or lemongrass and you have a simple but effective system that makes your plants far less inviting to gnats.
