My Story

Fabric, sewing and crafts are my passions and obsessions in life. Having been taught by my grandmother at the age of 8, I have been sewing, crocheting and quilting for most of my life. I started with mending , simple alterations and quilts for family members and clothes for my dolls as a child. By the age of 10, I got my first sewing machine a
nd soon graduated to making clothes for myself, and others by junior high school and on to home decor, window treatments , soft toys, and slip covers shortly after I graduated from high school. After graduation from high school, I went on to pursue a career in nursing and education but have continued to develop my sewing skills throughout my life through classes, workshops and seminars. My over 50 years of sewing and crafting experience encompass all areas of sewing from clothing to home decor, to fitting problems and plus size sewing , costumes, bridal, career, children and infants, men and boys, pattern drafting and design.
