My is nearly finished! Which...thank goodness, because the wedding is in 10 days. π
All these pink peonies and white rosebuds need are a little bit of greenery to fill them out and then they'll be throw-ready.
A lot of people who found out I was making the toss bouquet for my wedding have asked if the paper flowers aren't "too fragile" for that. My answer is: no more fragile than fresh flowers!
I thought long and hard about whether I would do a toss at all, actually. Personally, as a chronically dateless-at-weddings single woman for the majority of my adult life, I dreaded the moment of being singled out for this ritual. Yes, we all love hearing Beyonce remind the menfolk to "put a ring on it," but did the guy who caught the garter at that one wedding really need to shove it up my leg just because I accidentally caught the bouquet? ?
But still, the bouquet toss *can* be fun and some people look forward to this tradition. I'm nothing if not a sentimentalist, and for the most part, I've been a pretty traditional bride.
So I decided I'm going to shake things up at my wedding. This paper bouquet will be up for grabs to ANY guest who would like to have it, either for themself or their date. Men, women, single, married, whatever!
...I may have to ask the groomsmen not to go overboard and tackle each other. π
