Still thinking about the world premiere 🤩

This was such an amazing movie! I laughed so much! I also really related to our protagonist Anna. Now I didn’t move all the way to Italy, but I did move to New York City to chase a calling of my own. And I loved getting to see another Black girl on screen who was still figuring herself out and learning to begin again.

This amazing set designed by .nyc had me looking and feeling like a real life Disney princess. đź‘‘đź’š

Special thank you to for the tickets and for an amazing experience. If y’all haven’t watched it yet, I’m telling you, do it!

Often my kindness gets taken for granted. Because I’m not quick to yell, clap back, or say what’s really on my mind in the moment someone wrongs me, people assume nothing is wrong… or that it doesn’t need to be addressed.

And I know I’m not the only person who has felt this. A lot of us were taught that being “good” means being quiet, patient, understanding… even when something hurts.

But lately I’ve been questioning that. Why is the expectation always to take the high road when the same people keep swinging low?

I’m not interested in becoming cruel. But I am interested in becoming someone who holds her ground. Someone who speaks up sooner. Someone whose kindness isn’t mistaken for weakness.

So if my tolerance for ignorance, lack of self-awareness, or disrespect seems a little lower these days… it’s not because I’ve become mean.

It’s because I’ve finally stopped abandoning myself.

You can read more thoughts like this on my substack 🤭

NYC can be overwhelming sometimes… so every once in a while I try to do something that lets me slow down and just create.

Thanks to , I went rug tufting for the first time and got to bring a friend! We spent a few hours learning something totally new and I ended up making the iconic Basquiat crown. đź‘‘

As someone who works with yarn all the time, it felt really refreshing to step into a different kind of fiber art for a bit.

10/10 would recommend! Crafting is 1000% good for the soul ✨

Calling all the designated therapists and strong Black women in the group to the front! Should we be waiting for people to check in on us? Do we not share enough that we too might need someone in our corner? Is it just me?! Let’s please talk about it!

this is my submission for the dare to dream challenge.

đź“”chapter 5: daring to be seen

i’ve spent most of my life hiding. and yeah, that probably deserves a deeper therapy session one day 🫠 but what i do know is that this platform has pushed me out of my shell in ways i never could’ve imagined.

whether you found me through crochet, through big brother, or through this very new pivot of me documenting a transitionary season of my life in new york city, i’m genuinely so grateful you’re here. i don’t take that lightly at all.

i’m excited to grow, to evolve, and to see who i become when i stop hiding and start showing up out loud and proud.

and more than anything, i hope that by sharing this season, i can help someone else who’s spent a good chunk of their life hiding feel brave enough to step out too. the world is waiting to see you and be inspired by you. 💛✨

invited me to go iceskating in celebration of the launch of their NEW 80hr milky moisturizer! Today’s dress code had to give winter wonderland while also keeping me warm and moisturized with these frigid temperatures in nyc. How’d I do?

P.S.A. I did fall… like, HARD. Did I wanna stay plastered to the ground? Yes! Did I actually? No! Cuz in life, you gotta get back up! And I’m glad I did cuz I ended up having so much fun!

One of my goals for the new year is to go outside and dress up more. I’m on the journey of showing up and showing out (even with my very limited wardrobe). In 2026, we’re no longer hiding! 💛
