Thrift and Dollar in Aurora, IL is absolutely worth the drive, and make sure you bring some comfy walking shoes because this place is huge!

If you love wandering through endless aisles of random secondhand treasures, this is the store for you. The selection is massive, with everything from home decor and collectibles to furniture, and despite the sheer amount of stuff, it’s surprisingly well organized.

The furniture section is my absolute favorite. I’m really into interior design, and there are some serious gems hiding in there. Prices are NOT thrift store. Resale shop prices are in between thrift and antique mall prices. This is a for-profit store with no charity attached to it. The owner does sell online as well.

New antique mall alert: 31st Street Antiques in Brookfield, IL is my new favorite antique mall in Chicagoland! After the La Grange Park Antique Mall building was sold and the business dissolved, the majority of the dealers opted not to stay with the new owner. Instead, they got together and opened 31st Street Antiques. So if you liked the La Grange Park Antique Mall, you’re going to LOVE 31st Street Antiques! The space is bright, the dealers are bringing the heat, and there’s a little trinket for everyone. Once you’re done shopping at 31st Street, make sure you stop down the street at Nancy’s new thrift store, Budget Box Resale Shop, for even more trinkets and good company. Brookfield, IL is the new antique hot spot!

Your dream thrift store just opened in Brookfield, IL! Budget Box Resale Shop is FILLED with beautiful antique-mall finds at thrift-store prices! The majority of the store is 50% off the tagged price, and even better—100% of the proceeds benefit Beds Plus, a local charity. Nancy, who ran the La Grange Park Antique Mall for almost 5 years, opened this thrift shop with several of the other dealers after the mall was sold and abruptly closed this past June. So, if you were sad to see the La Grange Park Antique Mall go, this is the next best thing! There are so many unique pieces, vintage treasures, and little things you didn’t know you needed until you saw them. 👀 Make sure to stop by, say hi to Nancy & co., support a great local cause, and treat yourself to a little trinket—I know I did. 💜

I went to 5 different thrift stores in the Chicago burbs in one day. Am I crazy, or am I just obsessed with finding a deal? If you love vintage home decor, design-forward furniture, high-end fabrics, and luxury bags, you need to hit that follow button right now. I only thrift for the expensive stuff. We are talking about the exact same pieces you find on fancy-pants, rich-people websites like Chairish and 1stDibs. Case in point: i scored this 1990s steel lamp for less than $20 and a Gucci bag for $25. Do I have thrift blindness, or are these actually insane finds? My favorite 1970s color scheme is lemon-lime. Just a stunning piece! Art is pretty easy to find thrifting, but I’m always on the look out for genuine oil paintings. One of this size and impressionistic style isn’t a find you see too often, so this piece came home with me. 🦋

Located in Chicago’s Printer’s Row neighborhood, Born Again Born Again Consignment Parlor is a resale and consignment shop where you can truly sit back, relax, and shop with a cocktail in hand. It’s BYOB, and they even have a cute little speakeasy on the third floor. The shop is filled with an incredible mix of secondhand and new items, including clothing, accessories, shoes, home goods, menswear, and so much more. They even have an entire sale room with items up to 75% off. They are also size inclusive and carry regular and plus sizes. You can bring up to 10 items to consign as well. And there’s more—you can rent out the space! Born Again is located inside a beautiful vintage building that was once a law office and still features gorgeous stained-glass windows. Whether you’re a Chicago local or just visiting downtown for the weekend, you definitely won’t want to miss this shop. There’s also not a lot of secondhand shopping options in downtown Chicago so this is a true gem.
