om preloved and thrifted items. I’m a certified trained sewing instructor through the Sewing & Craft Alliance. I have participated in fashion shows in Chicago and New York City during NYFW and Brooklyn Fashion week promoting Sustainable Fashion. I love to share my knowledge with students. A Day of Learning, Sharing & Community at the Goodwill Creator Summit

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the Goodwill Creator Summit with Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago alongside nearly 40 creators from Chicago and Milwaukee, and it was such an inspiring experience.

The day was filled with networking, learning, collaboration, and meaningful conversations about content creation, storytelling, sustainability, and the impact we can make through our platforms.

One of the highlights for me was serving on a panel where I shared my experiences working on media projects, TV appearances, interviews, and content partnerships. It was especially rewarding to encourage newer creators and remind them that confidence comes from doing—not from waiting until you feel completely ready.

I also enjoyed finally meeting many of the Goodwill team members I’ve worked with behind the scenes and connecting with fellow creators who are passionate about thrifting, DIY, upcycling, fashion, home décor, and community building.

The day wrapped up with a visit to the Grand Avenue Goodwill store, where we had the chance to thrift and connect even more.

Thank you to the Goodwill team for creating such a thoughtful and engaging experience. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, share, and be part of such a creative community.

Swipe through for a few moments from the day!

SHE HAS POCKETS!! ✨🧡🫶🏽🥰
I took another oversized men’s blazer and turned it into a completely different jacket ✂️

But this version?
She has POCKETS 👏🏾

I added a contrasting zipper, welt pockets, elastic at the waist, and created the front detail using leftover men’s ties from previous projects — making this a zero waste upcycle.

One thing about me… I’m going to find a way to reuse the scraps ♻️

What’s the BEST thing you’ve thrifted lately? 👀

One oversized men’s pinstripe blazer… and a little imagination.

I transformed this thrifted jacket into a chic zip-up spring piece with elastic cuffs, a cropped waist, and a dramatic funnel neck collar made from the original jacket fabric.

The twisted back detail with the brooch might be my favorite part.

Upcycling will always be my first fashion love ❤️

This is an oldie but goodie. It will be on the runway soon.

One thing about me… I’m gonna turn denim scraps into something wearable. 💙

You all kept asking about this denim tie, so here’s a quick look at how I made it from an old pant leg and leftover denim pieces. This is exactly why I hold onto scraps — you never know what they’ll become.

Would you wear a denim necktie?

Just because it’s May doesn’t mean Chicago got the memo. 😩🧥

I’ve been looking for a leather jacket that feels structured, elevated, and actually fits well without feeling bulky — and this quilted green biker jacket from The Jacket Maker really surprised me. The color is rich, the fit is flattering, and the craftsmanship details are beautiful in person.

I ordered the slim fit version of the ADALYN quilted leather biker jacket, and I love that it still leaves room to layer while keeping a tailored shape. Plus… the inside pockets? SUCH a good detail.

This definitely feels like one of those forever pieces I’ll keep styling year after year.

Sunday night, Marquan, President of the Chicago Fashion Coalition called me with a concept for Chicago Does the Met… but no outfit.

So in less than 24 hours, I took a men’s blazer, deconstructed it, rebuilt it, and created a custom look inspired by texture, contrast, and imperfection.

A few days later, the look was featured in a WBEZ article covering the event, highlighting Chicago creativity, fashion, and artistry.

I love moments like this because they remind me that upcycling isn’t just about clothing — it’s storytelling, collaboration, and turning vision into something real.

Big shoutout to Marquan and the Chicago Fashion Coalition for continuing to create space for fashion and artists in Chicago.

“From concept to creation… that’s what it looks like when vision and ex*****on meet.” ✂️✨

Spending time at Barbara Bates’ studio yesterday was one of those full-circle moments I’ll never forget.

Fittings, fashion conversations, garment racks, model planning… and the opportunity to learn from a true icon in Chicago fashion.

I’m incredibly honored to present part of my collection in this weekend’s show alongside a designer whose work and legacy have inspired so many.

And this is only the beginning — Barbara will celebrate 40 years in fashion this October at the Obama Presidential Center.
