After thinking and praying this weekend I have made the hard decision to take a break from ordering letterman jackets.

The company I have purchased jackets from for over a decade has sold to another company that I have previously worked with. The quality of the jackets that came from that company was not even close to the company I worked with for years. I spoke with the new company and learned that they also do not have the design software that I have always used. It will take 3-5 business days to get a proof of what the jacket will look like. I am not comfortable with that. My customers can not come to see me multiple times to design to order a jacket and I have such a busy life it becomes impossible to do so.

I have researched other companies but none of them compare to the quailty of the jackets I used before.

With this being said, it does not mean that I am out of the jacket business forever. If I find a company, I feel makes quality jackets like I have had before, I will start ordering them again

However, if you purchase your own jacket and bring it to me I will still do all the work on it as I would have before. That way the customer knows the quality of jacket that they are bringing to me.

This decision came after lots of tears and prayer. I have absolutely loved working with all the families over the years. My heart is broken to have to make this decision. I hope this isn’t forever. I just can’t continue if I feel the quality of those jackets are not up to the standards I hold for my customers.

UPDATE: I HAVE REACHED THE 30 JACKET LIMIT FOR CHRISTMAS. I WILL STILL TAKE ORDERS FOR JACKETS I JUST CANT PROMISE IT FOR CHRISTMAS!!!! Thank you everyone!

Hello everyone! It is that time of year again… Varsity jacket season! I once again am opening up a calendar to schedule times to design. I am limiting myself again this year. I am taking on 30 coats for Christmas orders. Please understand I have very limited time to meet and make jackets because I have two very busy kids and I’m their ride to everything. 😂. If you make an appointment and are unable to make it I will TRY to reschedule you but I can not promise I will have any openings.

I try to keep Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings open for appointments but not ever my week is the same so my schedule may vary.

Please personal message me or the business page to make your appointment. Order cut off is Oct. 31 to ensure you will have it in time for Christmas. I will still take orders after that but again I can not promise delivery in time.

Christmas Varsity Coat orders will be cut off October 31st. I am limiting the number of jackets I do this year. Last year I had a record number of orders which I appreciated very much, however, I didn’t get to spend ANY time with my family doing fun things during the Christmas season. I am starting to realize that I am running out of time to enjoy time with my kids before they grow up and leave us. So, with that being said, I will be making appointments for Saturdays around the band and softball/travel ball schedule as well as my open evenings throughout the week during the month of October. After a lot of thinking and praying I have decided that Mel’s Embroidery and More will no longer be making t-shirts. I plan to focus solely on varsity letterman jackets. I just can’t keep it up anymore.

I work full time and my kids are involved in so much. I am blessed to have an amazing husband who picks up the slack most of the time but it’s not fair to him or to my kids. I have missed too much in my kids lives. I do hope that if you are in the market for a varsity jacket, you look me up or share my name.

Thank you so much for an awesome 15 years!! I appreciate all the support you have given me over the years.
