No one is alone when it comes to cancer.

Every year, Cancer Family Care, Inc. hosts Camp Courage. Camp Courage is a full-day experience for children ages 5-14 who have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis in the family, experienced a loss due to cancer, or has fight and survived cancer themselves. Kids are split into groups based on age and participate in a few therapeutic activities throughout the day.

This year’s camp is on Saturday, June 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Camp Joy in Clarksville. Registration is open — secure your child’s spot here: https://www.cancerfamilycare.org/our-programs/camp-courage/.

Kathleen Kauffman had a blast attending the 2026 Pink Ribbon Good Cincinnati Survivor Celebration and celebrating with her fellow breast cancer survivors. Kathleen, a survivor diagnosed with Stage 0 breast cancer in 2024, shared:

"I had a blast celebrating all of my breasties! Thank you to Pink Ribbon Good Cincinnati Region for putting this evening together. I especially want to thank my sister Michelle and my friend Sara for attending with me, and a special thank you to my friend Wendy for helping at the booth and sharing her personal experience. You three made this night one to remember!"

Today is National Nurses Day. According to an article in the International Journal of Nursing Practice, nurses provide emotional support to women following early breast cancer treatment to help them feel satisfied with their decisions and prevent psychological distress. Listening to patients and being present during periods of uncertainties are among the psychological support roles nurses play.

We are so grateful for the nurses who guide our patients through treatment and provide them with reassurance and encouragement! Thank you, nurses!
