Interested in possibly having your record expunged? Come stop by Tabernacle Baptist Church and Friendship A.M.E. on Friday, October 28th for the annual Expungement Clinic. Here's what happens next:

Once they arrive at one of the two locations mentioned above, they will be paired with a volunteer attorney.

The attorney will determine whether they are statutorily eligible.

If eligible, the attorney will initiate the process by filing a petition on the state judiciary's electronic platform.

The petition is then reviewed by the county prosecutor and the court.

Once expungement is granted, courts and law enforcement agencies throughout the state are served with and order directing them to remove the person's criminal history from their records.

The clinic will be from 10am to 6pm. It is a FREE event provided by the Burlington County Bar Association in partnership with the Burlington County Bar Association, Office of the Public Defender, Office of the Burlington County Prosecutor, Department of Human Services, Burlington City Police Department, Association of Black Women Lawyers, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and Friendship A.M.E. Church.
