here is the most recent remodel. it was the 2nd nicest mink coat I have had in the shop. it was hard to get started and cut the length. I shortened it to mid length, took in the sides, shortened the sleeves, and added a 2 way zipper. She will wear this as an everyday coat since she is incredibly cold. the ornate lining trim piece was a pain to deal with. pretty though! I was very [pleased how this turned out. Customer was way happy!!!

A project finished!! Snap on/ off silver fox collar. Made much like a hood ruff. Just more curve. I think it is lovely. She also has a matching silver fox handmuff 😉

I just want to say ThankYou for all who came out to the Alaska State Fair and supported the small businesses. we had a banner year with repeat customers and new ones. Now it is time to get busy in the shop!

Happy (almost) summer solstice! Just a few more days and then the days get shorter, sadly. Summer is just getting its swing on! We will be at our usual haunt this weekend, Moose Pass solstice festival. Saturday and Sunday I have been a vendor for 20 years. It is the start of our summer! Come on out and enjoy the truly Alaskan day. We have some new items, along with the tried and true. 😎

Beaver piece plate!! It is a double effort. Dan gets all the pieces cut and organized, then arranged the pieces into squares. I sew them cause it’s difficult to keep it straight and flat. Then to the stretching boards. We did about 40 squares. Made 2 smaller blankets and trimmed them out with beaver “butts” and neck pieces. Matching pillows with leftover squares. Lots of time and labor intensive. Don’t know if we will ever do it again….. Sure is nice once it’s done. Great feeling of accomplishment!! Just backing left yo do.
