Julianne Mary Wanat, 83, of Charlestown, NH passed away on March 10, 2026.
Julianne Mary Buraczynski was born on October 29th, 1942 in Greenfield, MA to Joseph S. and Laura M. (DeTour) Buraczynski.
She attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1960. She earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst in 1964 and a MALS from Wesleyan University in 1973.
Juli taught at her alma mater, Greenfield High School from 1964-1968 until marrying Louis Wanat and moving to Amherst, NH. She then taught at Milford Area Senior High in Milford, NH from 1968 until her retirement in 2000. In 1994 she received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching. After retirement, Juli and Lou moved to Charlestown, NH and Juli was able to continue educating through volunteering at the St. Mary School in Claremont, NH from 2001 to 2009. She was a NH Volunteer awardee during this time.
Since 2000, Juli has been a member of St. Mary Parish in Claremont, NH, a member of the Keene Mineral Club, and served as a Library Trustee for the Silsby Library in Charlestown, NH.
Her hobbies included photography, mineral collecting, gardening and genealogy.
Juli leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Louis, her son Richard (Christie) Wanat of Epping, NH, and daughter Jennifer (Daniel) Harper of Tallahassee, FL. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Lauren Wanat, Aiden Wanat, and Bradley Harper.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinsons or Lewy Body Dementia research.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary Church in Claremont on Wednesday, June 24th at 11AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Wi******er at 1PM.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Fay Smith 73 , a beacon of kindness and compassion, who departed this world on June 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 11, 1952, in the comforting embrace of Keene, New Hampshire, Sheila touched countless lives with her unwavering generosity and the warmth of her spirit. Sheila was the cherished daughter of Lawrence Fair of Rochester, NH, and Beverly French of Keene, NH, who predeceased her along with two beloved brothers. One brother, taken too soon by polio, and another, Larry Fair, who left us unexpectedly, were always close to Sheila's heart. These early losses shaped the compassionate woman she became, someone who understood the value of time and the importance of love. She is survived by her loving children, Debra A Neil and Ray L. Smith, whose lives were enriched by her nurturing spirit. Ray's wife Lori, Debras boyfriend Henry, and Sheila's siblings, Sharon Labraney, Ronnie Fair, and Timmy Fair, and her Beautiful Granddaughter Rebecca Neil whom she adored so very much and had such a great bond between her and her Nana Gg becca was her world as she was hers, also remain to celebrate her life. Her grandchildren—Megan Curtis, Kassie Smith, Rebecca Neil, Theresa Meyette, Chade, Sarah, and Crystal , Issac, Harmony,Ethan ,wyette, Maylee, Meara,Katherine, kaleb, John, — and great-grandchildren, Levi Galante, Cohen Curtis, and Bailee Macomber , weston Allen ,Alina Allen. Each carries a piece of Sheila's gentle heart and generous soul. Sheila's life was a testament to the power of care and empathy. For over a decade, she opened her home to run a share home for the elderly, providing them with love and dignity in their later years. Her journey of care extended as she worked with Sunapee Visiting Nurses in New London, NH, offering her support to the elderly, allowing them to remain independent in their homes—a mission she passionately believed in. Outside her professional life, Sheila found joy in the simple pleasures that life had to offer. She relished spending time with her family, embarking on shopping adventures, delighting in thrift store treasures, and savoring family outings and trips. Her family gatherings, rich with love and laughter, were her greatest joy, a testament to her role as the rock of her family. Sheila's smile, which could light up any room, and her heart of gold made everyone she met feel loved and welcome. In this time of mourning, we extend our deepest gratitude to DHMC and Cancer in Lebanon, NH, and Elmwood Center Nursing Home in Claremont, NH, for their unwavering support and care. We also wish to thank the wonderful caregivers Brenda Chadbourne, Jenni Baker, and Rose Bolio from Ascentia Homecare Agency, who were by her side over the years and her friend and companion Bob Woodbury she adored and loved stood by her to the end , glad my mom found you , your part of our big family Now, and her devoted daughter, Debra Neil, whose love and care never wavered. Sheila's life was a journey of grace and love, and though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she now rests in peace, her angel wings earned. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, a life lived with immense love and compassion. A memorial service will be held in her honor, details of which will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to organizations supporting cancer care, continuing Sheila’s legacy of giving. May Sheila Fay Smith's memory be a blessing to us all.
Funeral services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, on Thursday afternoon, June 25th with visiting hours from 1pm to 2pm and a service at 2pm. Burial will be held on Saturday morning, June 27th at 10am at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont.

David Carver, passed away on June 17, 2026.
He was born in Lebanon, NH on April 17, 1939, the son of Frederick E. and Jessie (Graham) Carver.
David graduated from KUA in 1957, where he played Varsity hockey and soccer. He attended Tufts College from 1957-1958 and then graduated from Boston University in 1962.
He became a teacher at KUA from 1962-1971. He also coached Varsity soccer and was an Assistant coach of Varsity hockey.
He then moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida in 1971, after training for a nursing home administrator in Rochester, NY. Working at the Fountains Nursing Home in Boca Raton from 1971-1973.
David was predeceased by his parents, his son, Chris Carver; stepdaughter, Tammie Bean and brothers, James and Douglas Carver.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Bean) whom he married in 1976; sister, Jane Fielder; grandson, Maxwell Carver; stepdaughters, Pamela Johnson and Samantha Bean.
Funeral services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont on Friday, June 26th with calling hours from 10am to 11am and a service at 11am. Burial will follow at Mills Cemetery in Meriden, NH.

Margaret Rose Palmer Gallagher (December 5, 1950- January 15, 2026)
On January 15, 2026 Peggy passed away after a long illness, surrounded by her daughter’s. Born on December 5, 1950 to Isabel (Thomas Ross) and Walter Palmer she was raised in Charlestown, New Hampshire. She was a cheerleader at Fall Mountain Regional High School and went on to the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH where she received her Bachelor’s degree. After graduation, she worked as a Social Worker until she had her 2 daughters Shannon and Erin.

Peggy was active in the community, her children’s schools and church. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and was instrumental in the Foster Grandparents Organization. While her children were in school, she worked as an aide at many local elementary schools. She loved her family, cooking, listening to music (singing along to it off key), animals of all kinds, fashion, sewing, movies, popular culture and whatever her daughters’ interests were.

She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her daughters, Shannon and Erin Gallagher, sister Catherine (Palmer) Armstrong, two grandsons Rex Walter and Timothy Oscar McQueen, 1 nephew and 7 nieces.

A memorial service will be held for Peggy at 9:30am on Friday July 10, 2026 at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel in Charlestown, NH. A mass will follow at 11am at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with graveside service immediately following.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for contributions to be made in her name to your favorite mental health, children’s or animal charity or the PTA at her grandson’s school Grady A. Brown Elementary in Hillsborough, NC.

In Loving Memory of Lisa Marie (Buffum) Kinney

Lisa M. Kinney, age 53, passed away on June 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on May 18, 1973, in Keene, NH, Lisa was the daughter of Joyce (Kathan) Giroux and the late Neal Paul Buffum. Throughout her life, Lisa exemplified kindness, creativity, strength, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

She shared 32 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bruce Kinney. Their love story began with a blind date arranged by mutual friends, a simple introduction that blossomed into a lifetime of love, partnership, and friendship, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.

Lisa dedicated herself wholeheartedly to raising their daughter, Olivia. As a stay-at-home mother, she devoted her time to Olivia’s education, growth, and development. She viewed homeschooling not simply as teaching, but as an opportunity to instill a love of learning, strong values, and confidence in the young woman Olivia is today. Lisa took immense pride in her family and the home she lovingly created for them.

An avid reader and lifelong learner, Lisa could often be found with a book in hand and a cup of her favorite Earl Grey tea nearby. She also enjoyed watercolor painting, finding joy and peace in expressing her creativity through art. She cherished family barbecues, gatherings with loved ones, and making memories with family and friends.

One of Lisa’s favorite places in the world was Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She loved the beauty of the ocean, the warmth of the sun, and the special moments spent there with those she loved most.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 32 years, Bruce Kinney; her daughter, Olivia Kinney; her mother, Joyce Giroux and husband Mike Giroux; her half-brother, Andrew Hutchings; her mother in-law, Sharon Martin; her sister in-laws, Julie Tewksbury, June Walker and Alyssa Rhoades; and several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Though ovarian cancer ultimately claimed her life, it never diminished her spirit. Lisa faced every challenge with grace, courage, and determination, inspiring all who knew her through her strength and love for her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by graveside burial services. Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life following the burial services.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, caregivers, family members, and friends who provided support, comfort, and compassionate care throughout Lisa’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Lisa and in support of the ongoing fight against cancer.

Stanley D. Wood, 86, of Claremont, New Hampshire, died on June 11, 2026, after a period of declining health.

Stanley was born on September 28, 1939, in Lebanon, New Hampshire, to Philip and Esther (Puffer) Wood, Sr.

Stanley spent his early years on the family farm in Lebanon, which is now known as the Miracle Mile. In his senior year of high school, he felt the call to serve his country and he joined the United States Navy. He proudly served 20 years as part of the Navy Seabees and as a cook. He served two tours in Vietnam.

As a member of the U.S. Navy, he travelled to 72 countries. After leaving the military he continued to travel as often as he could. In between his travels, he found time to run the Orford General Store in Orford, New Hampshire, which he owned and operated for over seven years with his third wife, Sandra (Montague).

Stanley is survived by his wife Phyllis (Seace) whom he married in 1959 and again in 1990, his daughters and sons: Renée (Marc) Plante, Dorée (Dale) Russell, Nancy (Donald) Fontaine, Andrée Wood, Derrick Kimball, Holly Olson, Tony (Vanessa) Wood, and T. Thomas Denney; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his second wife Sonya Shufelt; sister-in-law Ellen Wood; nieces Christine (Eugene) Rabassa and Heidi (Doug) Ahlquist. He is predeceased by his parents; brother P. Jerry (Ellen) Wood, Jr.; nephew Steven Wood; stepsons Perry Wood and Eddie Denney; and third wife Sandra.

A service will be held at Stringer Funeral Home on June 19, 2026, with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, burial with military honors will take place at the West Lebanon Cemetery, Pleasant Street, West Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Sylvia Marie (Fuller) Smith, 73, of Charlestown, NH passed away on May 23, 2026.
She was born in Bellows Falls, VT on February 9, 1953, the daughter of Raymond and Evelyn Fuller.
She is survived by her two children, Linda Simpson and Donald (Vicky) Simpson; siblings, Harriett Webster, Robert Fuller, Verner Fuller, and Donna Newton; grandchildren, Megan Howe and Daniels Cutts.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Predeceased by her parents, husband, Paul W. Smith; siblings, Alma Ruthier and Raymond Fuller.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Charlestown VFW on June 20, 2026 from Noon to 4PM.

Kasey C. Decato, 37, of Manchester, NH passed away on May 19, 2026.
Kasey had struggled with addiction for years; she fought hard to fight it.
She was born at Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, NH on January 27, 1989.
Kasey had a great smile, great laugh and sense of humor and most of all a huge heart. Her proudest joy was her children, Mason and Mariah.
She was proud to be part of the Dunkin family, where she had worked for the last years of her life.
Kasey is survived by her children, Mason and Mariah Hewitt; her mother, Samantha Arbuckle; her brother, Jeffrey and sister, Linsey Decato; grandmother, Dianne Walker; uncle Jason and aunt Kristin Walker; cousins, Lauren, John and Allison.
Funeral services will be held privately.

David Harvey Wolcott, 80, died on Wednesday May 6, 2026 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, NH. David was born on April 2, 1946 in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada and was adopted by Robert Wolcott and Marjorie (Harvey) Wolcott. He was a resident of Claremont, NH, where he lived most of his life.

David graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont in the class of 1967. He served in the United States Army with the rank of Specialist 4 from January 1968 to August 1970 when he was honorably discharged. For his time in the army, David received the Vietnam National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. After his service, he worked for the Dartmouth Woolen Mill and Holson Photo in Claremont.

David is survived by his sister Leslie Wolcott Buswell of St. Froid Lake, ME and Northport, FL, a niece Sara (Buswell) Eaton and her daughters Alexa Rae Eaton and Rachel Mae Eaton of Topsham, ME, and a niece Laura (Buswell) Murray, her husband Jay of Keller, TX, and their children Jason Murray, Jonathan McGuire and his family, Rachel (Murray) Foshee and her family, Felicia Murray and her husband, and Melanie (Murray) Bushong and her family; and lifelong friends Sandi and Les St. Pierre.

David enjoyed spending time with his family and travelled to Maine for many years to spend Christmas with the Buswell, Eaton, and Murray families. He lived at the Earl M. Bourdon Centre in Claremont, NH for 24 years and enjoyed friendships with many residents at the retirement center, including Pam Greene.

A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday June 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont, NH, followed by burial at Mountain View Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Sandra Lee (Blaine) Aiken, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at the Jack Byrnes Center for Palliative & Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. Born on September 28, 1947, in Claremont, New Hampshire, Sandra was the cherished daughter of the late Harold and Jennie (Michalenoick) Blaine.

A graduate of Stevens High School in 1965, Sandra was a woman of many talents and passions. Her life was a tapestry of kindness, creativity, and service to others. She married the love of her life, John Aiken, on April 10, 1970, in their hometown of Claremont, NH, and together they shared 56 years of love, laughter, countless memories, and mutual respect. Their loving partnership was a beacon of strength and devotion, nurturing the growth of their beloved children Rebecca (Aiken) Rostron, Jason Aiken, and Jesse Aiken. They built a close, loving family and a life that embraced the simple joys and values of hard work.

Sandra was a doting grandmother to her four grandchildren: Shawn Alexander, Josephine Vielguth, Brayden Rostron, and Anna Aiken, who were the lights of her life. Being a grandmother brought the greatest joy and pride to Sandra.

A woman of incredible skill and dedication, Sandra shared her love for sewing, quilt-making, and knitting with the world. In January 1976, she founded her own home sewing business, "Country Lace Boutique," and later opened up a yarn & knitting store, "Yankee Maid". Sandra brought warmth and beauty into countless homes, leaving a patchwork of love that will be felt for generations. Her creations were more than just art; they were expressions of her warmth, selflessness, and meticulous care.

Sandra's hobbies reflected her nurturing nature—cooking and baking filled her home with comforting aromas, while gardening brought vibrant beauty to her surroundings. Her talent as a seamstress, dollmaking and crafting stuffed animals brought joy to many, each piece crafted with love and attention to detail. Sandra never passed up an opportunity to go to a craft fair or out to eat. Sandra also spent many years vacationing (with her family) in a beach front cottage on Popham Beach, Phippsburg, Maine, enjoying listening to the peaceful sounds of the ocean waves, always looking for a great place to eat with fresh seafood and checking out the stores in Booth Bay and Freeport.

Her legacy goes beyond her creative endeavors; it is found in the lives she touched and the memories she created. Sandra's selfless nature was evident in her every action, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. Her compassionate heart and unwavering support will be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.

Sandra is survived by her husband, John, her three children; Rebecca (Aiken) Rostron – Claremont, NH, Jason ( Michelle) Aiken – Claremont, NH, and Jesse Aiken – Claremont, NH, and her four grandchildren; Shawn Alexander of Newport, VT, Josephine Vielguth of Lawton, OK, Brayden Rostron of Claremont, NH and Anna Aiken of Claremont, NH), along with many other extended family members and special friends who will deeply miss her.
Sandra Lee Aiken's legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Her gentle spirit and infectious sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be a guiding light for generations to come.

A graveside service to honor Sandra's life will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont, NH. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the Jack Byrne Center for their exceptional care and compassion during Sandra's final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society – PO Box 702, Brownsville, VT 05037, reflecting Sandra's love for all living creatures, especially her life-long love for German Shepherds.
