I locked the door on the station for the last time tonight and not because I wanted to. I stared in the windows and I cried…then ate chocolate in Holly’s hot tub because mine shut off mid-move and that’s what backyard besties are for mid-SOS. 🤣

I’ve staged spaces, places, weddings, events, designed salons and day spas, built them from the walls in, staged homes for rent and for sale and designed every Lord and Taylor window from Maine to Florida. My heart beats to the set up and the break down and the moments and memories in between. They end with an exclamation point‼️ and a few popped caps 🎉🎉🎉 and it’s absolutely exhilarating.

This feels as empty as it looks.
A void, where there used to be vibrance, and it’s hard to swallow.
I don’t complete things left unfinished and this is finished…but far from over.

You can take The Pistil out of the station but you can’t take The Pistil out of the girl. ♥️

This needed the happen but was never my design or part of the plan and a few more chocolates in, I’ll bounce back…this was by far the best thing I’ve done in a long line of over the top doings and I’m really sad to see it go.

If you were part of it thank you for holding that space while it lasted 🙏 and holding my hand as it fell apart 🙏 and I’ll see you back here at the Pistil Palace pop ups, parties, petals and all.

My personal accounts got hijacked a couple of years back and I never went back in. I went dark and inside and introspective, and it was delicious and light and luminous and lit the path of a totally different direction that led to a rusty old gas station with broken pipes. ♥️

Ever evolving, this account will continue to be all the Velvet Pistil things—for sale, for rent, for swooning over—and I’ll be over at new personal insta account scouring some ghost town dump or demo diving tear downs because I’m a weirdo like that. See you there!

So…The Pistil hasn’t popped because the water pipes did.

I said come hell or high water I was going to have this station open in September after 5 months of blood, sweat, tears, broken bones and I don’t even remember how many gallons of paint. The fire department signed off, the city signed off, I got every loving last thing in place and BANG the water pipes broke under my floor and it all has to be jack hammered out. It’s a big fix with no target timeline.

I’m taking the market online and actually having a hard time keeping shops full, which has been fun and unexpected. As soon as they’re restocked I’ll have items here as well as Ruby Lane, Shopify and Chairish links.

I’ve got a thing for old buildings and we’re still going steady, but the station will be by appointment only until March and the start of our outdoor market season.

Our downtown is hopping with amazing food, artisans and arts and crafts, nightlife and live music, craft beer, French pastry, the best vegan cheese on the planet, gifts, books, spa service and more.

Old, real, original milk glass in the sunlight is a swirly white and ice blue with amber hues where the glass thins. It’s the tell tale sign of the mother of milk glass companies like Fenton, Anchor Hawking, Imperial Glass etc. Later tell which one?

The website is live and Shopify is live with the beginnings of online inventory. This week I’ll be loading every loving last thing in this place onto it and playing show and tell along the way. There’s a new visitor discount in there if I pushed the right button…🤣

Thank you to everyone who came in from following us and everyone who wandered in and became friends. These last two weeks have been a whirlwind of rust and tulle and Velvet Pistil bliss and I’m forever grateful for such a warm welcome!❤️
