We had our neighborhood friends over for a pickling lesson. Everyone pulled up a chair in the kitchen to watch and ask questions. We made a couple jars of “dilly beans” and some cucumbers! They were knocking on my door the next day, so we popped the lids and ate the whole batch up! 🤭 Nothing beats summer heat and a good zesty pickle.

These were just some quick and easy pickles using the same brine I use for red onions! You can find it on my page or message me for it. 🥒

There’s such a gentle pause created when sorting, rinsing, and cooking beans. Don’t forget to slow down this weekend amidst the hustle and bustle to find those tiny glimmers of stillness! 🫘

Summertime is upon us which means it’s grilling season. ☀️ My personal favorite!

Need something easy, crowd appealing, and a use for those untouched onions on your counter? You can’t deny the awe factor of pickled onions on a burger, hot dog, or even a zesty salad. It’s not summertime without a little zing!

Here’s the recipe I used. I’m dubbing it the “Two Good Pickled Onions”:

2 Large red onions
2 cloves of garlic
2 cups white vinegar
2 cups water
2 tablespoons of salt
Roughly 1/3 cup of sugar. I use a little less cause I like a punch of twang! 😉
1 teaspoon of peppercorns
And I added dill for an extra flavor pop!

Simmer vinegar, water, sugar, and salt on the stove until combined. Slice your onions and garlic real thin and add to your jars. Be sure to add in your peppercorns and any extras. Let your liquid mixture cool before pouring it over the top of your onions. Let it sit for a couple of days! Top on any of your summertime dishes and voilà! 🤌🏼

Do I have any idea what I’m doing? Absolutely not. Did I have fun doing it? Without a doubt.

This was my first time bulking my dough up like this. Miraculously, these huge loaves fit into the bread bags! 🤭

I see so many sourdough bakers making videos of the process in their micro bakeries. Well, mine is a nano bakery, and by the grace of God, I managed 11 loaves yesterday! 🙌🏼 Thanks so much for supporting me, friends!
