I stumbled upon the opportunity of making memory bears when I lost my mom. I had all of her clothes and thought originally I would make a quilt as a keepsake. The problem was there just wasn't enough clothes to make a quilt for everyone I wanted to share a keepsake of mom with. What I did find was that I could use her clothes to make memory bears for those of us who wanted such a treasure. I have since made bears out of many lost loved one's clothes. I have also used children's sleepers or blankets to make a lasting reminder of when our kids were oh so small. Over the past several months I have expanded my creations to include t-shirt quilts, photo quilts, Christmas ornaments, and doll clothes. Many of us have favorite clothes or blankets tucked away... baby/kids clothes, sports jerseys, team shirts, clothes from loved ones etc. Transform and preserve these items by turning them into a handmade, custom creation. Lots of new creations are in the works!

What a great few days! Bus trip to Missouri Star for their birthday bash and a couple quick shop stops on the way back made for a wonderful three days! Missouri Star knows how to throw a party. If you have not been, I encourage you to put it on your bucket list. You won't find a friendlier, more encouraging atmosphere.

A huge thank you to Beth Cooper for arranging this awesome experience and for trusting me to head the bus there and back. The ladies on the bus were the best! New friendships were made and new ideas were born (like we need more of those).

I ended up putting my phone away and just enjoying my time there.

I did some cleaning while Ava was down. From a tall, towering mess to a much nicer conglomerate to hold my ironing board and fabric stash. Then I combined two storage units for my Cricut station. They help create the illusion of organization in my sewing room. 😁 Fairly inexpensive as they were mostly all cube shelves from Walmart. The top part of the Cricut cabinet was on sale on Amazon.

Frog Follies is this weekend. Throwing back to this Frog Follies quilt made by Jean Attebery. It was so perfectly pieced and fun to quilt. The result was a stunning finished product!

If you have tshirts in the closet that don't fit anymore or you're not ready to permanently part with them, a tshirt quilt is a treasured way to put them together in a keepsake.

Dogs can sure be hard on quilts! This grandmother's flower garden is the quilt my grandma made us for our wedding in 1993. It gained a hole from a young puppy's zealous nature and sharp teeth. I am super happy with the repair work. This quilt is good to go for years to come!

Edited to add: Grma used a hexagon template made from a cereal box, traced each hexie onto fabric then hand cut them. It was a process for sure.
