If you grew up in Northeast Ohio during the Cleveland Press glory days, you probably remember this pumpkin character. Every October, the afternoon paper came with a jack-o'-lantern cutout that kids hung in their front windows. Some houses had one, and others had windows covered with them leading up to Halloween. You'd also spot them in firehouses, school windows, and neighborhood storefronts all over town, a staple of the area during one of the most festive months of the year.

This is the glory of minor-league baseball in a nutshell. We look back at a random 2010 game between the Auburn Doubledays and Mahoning Valley Scrappers, which included my dad throwing out the first pitch dressed as Samuel Adams and a Japanese pitching prospect who chronicled his time in Cleveland's organization for a publication back home. Good stuff!
