Tomorrow is the first Hike the Forge Event:
September 5th @ 9AM: Tree ID hike on the Reservoir Trail

Join a Douthat State Park ranger for a short walk to discover the basics of tree identification. We will teach the group what to look for when identifying trees of Virginia. We will look at leaf shape, branching pattern, and bark texture to learn about these terrific trees.

Its September 1st, time to "Hike the Forge".

Hike the Forge is coming this September!

Get outside and explore Clifton Forge during our month-long Hike the Forge Challenge! Throughout September, we’re inviting residents and visitors to hit the trails, discover some of our favorite outdoor spaces, and have a little fun along the way.

Hike 4 of our 5 featured trails and earn local prizes!

We’ll also have guided trail hikes and special kids’ events throughout the month, so there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved—whether you’re a regular hiker or exploring these trails for the first time.
