If you order hats and can’t make it to Benson to pick them up, we are happy to distribute them at our shop in Clinton, or arraign to have them shipped. Just let us know and we will get them to you. If you want to purchase a large order for a company or organization, we can handle it. Not only are we a custom shop, but we are a commercial production shop. Please, let’s band together and help our brothers and sisters in need. 100% of money raised will go towards the hurricane victims. If you prefer to donate money, please donate to Baptist on Mission or The Cajun Navy. These are always the first groups on scene in any disaster. I’ve included links to both below.

Long post but short of it is we are going to WNC to support Hurricane Helene Relief!!!!!
I wanted to take a minute and share what we plan on doing here at Black Creek Mini Farm. We have decided we will leave out Saturday morning October 12th and return the following Thursday. Our plan is to head directly to the WNC Regional Livestock Center and go from there. We feel we can help any way they need us between having a truck and trailer for deliveries, our knowledge of small animals if they need any help with that on farms, etc. We are not asking for anything but anything but prayers; however, if you would like to help out in any way, we will have Venmo setup and 2 drop off locations:
- SIT Wood and Leather 117 S. Market Street Benson, NC Mon-Thur 9 am to 5 pm, Friday 10 am to 6 pm (919)670-5876
- Davis Leather 931 Sunset Ave, Clinton, NC Mon – Friday 9 am to 4 pm
- Venmo: https://venmo.com/u/csorrell77
If neither one of these works you can PM us and we can figure something out.
SIT Wood and Leather will also be selling leather patch hats that were made for the storm for $25 each and proceeds from those sales will go directly to the supplies for Hurricane Helene based on WNC Ag needs.
I will keep the post updated as much as possible, but we are targeting more small scale things since as of now we don’t have a big box truck or anything like that lined up.
These are the most recent things that WNC Regional Livestock Center has posted they are looking for that are smaller scale:
- Camp stove with little propane bottles
- Horse Tape
- Solar electric fence feeds
- Step in plastic post for temp fencing
- Poly electric fence wire
- Electric fence tape
- D Batteries
Additional for those of you that own animals you know that the followings things to name a few are useful as well especially in times like they just had:
- Vitamin B
- Dewormers
- Syringes
- Selenium
- Red Cell
- Dark Karo
- Quick Clot
- Colostrum
Also we have read from the WNC page that some locations need help getting feed out to more remote locations that trucks can’t get to, so if anyone would like to help with a UTV/Gator of any kind to get feed out to people there let us know.
We also have a contact in the mountains that can get supplies to the drop off location after we get back and we are planning a second trip in November so if you want to help but can’t at this time they will need help for months and we are planning on keeping in touch with the locals we know to keep this going.
