Today's disaster.....valgus front end horse....more worser on the RF. Following vet instructions, brought toe back and applied a bar shoe....floated medial heel to relieve pressure. Last pic is hinds that tend to get really arrow head shape, vet wanted more rounding to ease break over. You can really see how out of balance this guy is by looking at the front view.....and this is good now !

Really tough thrush deal today. The entire frog was effected. By the time we had debrided the area, there was almost no frog left, this was right down to where she lives. It was so sensitive,that just by blowing hard on the area, she flinched. Used groom's hand thrush remedy as anything more harsh would have probably done more harm than good. Packed the area and added a hospital plate. Instructions are too remove plate daily and inspect, clean and repack. Pics DO NOT show the amount of damage to the frog area. Good news is pretty sound with plate and able to turn out when dry in dry paddock.

When we started with this mare, she was classic low heel, toes run forward and broken out quarters from uneven loading. Fast forward 16 months,and she is in a much better place with better heels and a much more managed toe. Her quarters are much stronger because of more even loading across the entire hoof.

What a difference 10 months make. This guy last year had his feet so beat up and short that he was a unable to hold shoe...

What a difference 10 months make. This guy last year had his feet so beat up and short that he was a unable to hold shoes and was off both fronts. We cast them and applied a wide web shoe. A huge shout-out to the owner for stepping up and taking advice. She made nutrition and turnout changes,which really helped get him to today. Today he has grown out a strong healthy foot, especially for a thorobred. Jules Magules !!
