So friends, I'm not going to mince words. Part of the reason I'm absent a lot here is because of a lot of hardships my family has been facing recently. I could write a book (and I can't lie, I've actually given that serious thought), but I won't bog you down with details. Just hard, cold facts:
- My husband has recently spent 72 days in the hospital. He came very close to dying...twice. But he is alive and well now and I'm grateful for that beyond measure.
- Because of his hospital stay, his employer decided he had been gone for too long (nevermind the fact that he was literally fighting for his life), and terminated his employment. He's tried to get social security disability and unemployment to help, but neither organization is willing to help without a fight.
- Yesterday we found out that the house we are currently renting (with the intention of purchasing as soon as we qualified for a home loan) may be put on the market by the homeowner next week. If Ken had had a 3-day hospital stay like intended, he would have gone back to work in November, we would have qualified the first of the year, and this house would be ours. But because of the horrific series of events that happened, no pre-qualification. No home loan. And we are running out of time, if we haven't already.
So I can promise all of you that I'm going to be a LOT more present on this site. Over the coming weeks chances are you're going to see a lot more than bears. We need to come up with some funding, and fast. Now...I know selling cool handmade stuff is not going to make all the problems go away, but every little bit helps. Right?
