Please lift their families up in prayer tomorrow and also pray for our fine young men and women who have chosen to go stand for us now. Pertaining to all the National attention of my sweet town of Cohutta:

I know a lot of you have came a long way to visit our little store here in Cohutta, and I hope your visit was wonderful in our town. I want to tell you a few things that not many have said.

I moved to Cohutta in 2008 right after graduating Murray County High school and joining the military. It was the first place that was MY home, and I am very proud to be a part of our town. My wife and I are actively raising children still at home here. Our oldest son just left for the Marines so we only have 7 little ones left at home.

I can’t attests or speak on behalf of any other person or entity. I’ll only speak as to what I’ve personally experienced here in my town.

Every single person in and around Cohutta has never been anything but kind and caring to me and my family. I honestly believe, if you come here to visit any of our wonderful businesses or stores , you will be treated like family. Any day of the week this is the experience I’ve had with our businesses here.

The people here are the warmest and most welcoming you will find. I have never, not ever one time personally had a bad experience with any resident or person in Cohutta.

I’ve had the same experience out of our Government Offices & Officials. While I have not personally interacted with all government employees in Cohutta. Every single fireman, policeman, postal worker, schoolteacher, town employee, & council member has always treated me the same as everyone else around here. Like a friend.

I’m on No one’s side or against any place or person here. They have all been a friend to me, and I Fully Support each and every person and business here. I feel they all are hard working people trying to make the best of their community. And it hurts my heart to see ANY of our people depicted negatively.

I know that experiences may vary, and others may have different stories. I know to some this news is easy entertainment, but to some it’s pain hurting directly and indirectly.

But my story is I am truly blessed to be here and be a part of the wonderful town we call Cohutta.

I ask that you don’t define us by the current political events and come see for yourself what you experience here. I have full faith that you will enjoy your visit. You will all find a friend here at Blake’s if you need one.

I know none of us are perfect, but I believe we’re all aspiring to do better. And I am not ashamed to stand with our Boys in Blue when they need it the most. I’d stand with any of the rest of you. Keep us in your prayers.
