Confession time: trying to run a boutique, do consulting work, answer emails and plan meetings, help with homework, remember snacks and school activities, keep a free-range and slightly feral toddler alive, and be a pleasant human being all at the same time was… not my best plan. 😅
As a result, I've been taking a hard look at how I spend my time. I'm simplifying.
You might know that in addition to Nesting, I'm also a consultant for local nonprofits and I serve locally as the Coordinator for the Thomas County Coalition. I used to multitask and do all of this work at my Nesting office during regular shopping hours. Wow, was this chaotic.
Recently, I've accepted the offer to use shared space at the LiveWell office so I can be closer and more plugged-in to my Coalition team. There, I can focus better, collaborate more, and actually enjoy the work without multitasking myself into burn out.
That shift has also allowed me to be more intentional with Nesting. Rather than being open longer hours and stretched thin, I'm choosing hours that allow me to show up rested and ready to serve you-- not running on caffeine, adrenaline, and mom guilt.
These new hours give me space to be a mom and attempt to domesticate my free-range toddler, exercise and move my body, and protect the parts that matter most without giving up the boutique and my customers that I love.
New Nesting Hours:
• Thursday & Friday: 2–6 pm
• Saturday: 10 am–2 pm
Private shopping appointments, online shopping, and free Colby delivery are still available as my schedule allows.
Thank you for supporting small businesses and the overly ambitious (and tired) moms behind them. And, if you're a boss mom like me, this is your invitation to choose wisdom and discernment, choose what feels right even if it doesn't make sense to anyone else, shed what no longer fits in your life, and move forward with personal freedom-- with passion, intention, and smart choices on who and what gets access to your time and energy.
Love you all. Let's kick butt in 2026!
