This year will be the beginning of a new era for our building in Colfax, IA. What has housed our former business, Affected Interiors, will now be transformed back to some form of its original namesake. Please follow us on the journey to bring the Colfax Feed Mill up to date, while paying respect to its original purpose. I’m sure it will be a crazy adventure with wonderful results.

Other than the attic, every part of this house is in a state of being half finished. I still find it exhilarating! Today, the drop ceiling and some cabinetry came down in the kitchen. I still have to demo the plaster and lath ceiling underneath. The plan is a beadboard ceiling! Hoping it will add some charm to this small space. ❤️

We have been radio silent for a while. We have been keeping a few secrets that we will share this week. Here is the first one....
Last winter, we went and looked at an old house that had been turned into a rental property. On a whim, we made an offer. Well, they accepted. We have decided to start at the top and work our way down. Here is the finished attic space. Thanks to our amazing contractor, Cody, at Olson Construction of Iowa, LLC, a vision is now reality. We are going to save her one floor at a time. I will put a couple photos in the comments of what it looked like at the closing, so you get a true before and after. I will share more details and document our other projects as we go!
Also, thanks to Jerry Chandler for his heating and cooling work. Thank you so much for advising us to put two units in!!! Also, to Todd Heaberlin Enterprises for all the electrical work.

Ok friends... we will NOT be at Junkstock next week. We have kiddos with jobs and some fun things we are working on ourselves that we will talk about later. Until then, we will be at a local show next week!! It will be super fun to be at Vintage & Made Fair at Living History Farms next weekend! Go check it out on Facebook and Instagram. The vendor features are amazing. Music, food, vintage, handmade items.... see you there!!!! ❤️

A boy and his dog. Junkstock exhaustion has officially set in. Three days of peace, love, and selling junk is hard work for these two. Roxie dog is our booth mascot and our kiddos work just as hard as we do. Thank you Sara and your team for an amazing show. Thank you to our wonderful neighbors and junker friends for making it fun. And thank you soooooooo much to our customers for buying our creations and making it all possible. It still blows my mind you all have our stuff in your homes!!! There aren't enough words for the amount of gratitude we feel!!!
