From the gown I almost wore for my own wedding into a first communion dress... I knew I brought this dress home for a reason, even if it wasn’t to get married in.

She was missing some pieces from where I’d used her over the years on other alterations, so with some work, it all came together.

I’ve been getting lots of zippers brought to me that aren’t broken, so I thought I’d share a little how-to, in case your zipper pull is just needing a little squeeze.

This works sometimes when your pull isn’t lacing the teeth of your zipper together right. It just needs a gentle squeeze to tighten the pull back up!

If this doesn’t work, it may need a new pull or a zipper replacement, which I’m happy to help with!
*If there are tears, rips, or teeth missing from the zipper preventing it from working, this will not help. The zipper will need replaced.

❗️ With this in mind, this is just a reminder to PLEASE wash any coats/jackets/jeans/coveralls before you bring them for repair or new zippers.

While I don’t mind a little dust and grease and whatever else the farm rubs off on your clothes, but these beautiful items do and come in contact with the same machines that I use.

Sometimes Old Glory 🇺🇸 just needs some TLC.

I never served in the military, and I don’t run for office, but this is my own little way of serving my country.

I repair flags, no charge. This big flag was the largest I’ve ever worked on, and I’m glad to get it back to waving proudly.

**If your flag is beyond my repair, I will let you know and will also offer to retire your flag properly to the Colome Legion.

No scrap of a dress would go unloved and unused if my girls had their way. This bridesmaid’s dress I finished today was turned into a baby carrier for her teddy.
