Another milestone to celebrate……

Oak Grove Community Closet was inspired by previous outreach experience with a similar community program in Northern Virginia before bringing that same heart for helping families to the Northern Neck community.

Since launching in August 2025, we have already been blessed to serve over 300+ families throughout King George, Westmoreland, and surrounding Northern Neck communities and we’re continuing to grow every month. 💜

Thank you to our church family, volunteers, sponsors, donors, partners, and every person who has shared, prayed for, donated to, and supported this mission along the way. We truly couldn’t do this without you. And a special thanks to Oak Grove Baptist Church for being our home base for the Oak Grove Community Closet

And remember, this program is for everyone. We are a recycle, refresh & re-bless outreach where anyone can donate and anyone can shop FREE for gently used clothing and shoes. We all can use a little closet refresh sometimes. 💜

We have big plans and goals for the future of this outreach program and are excited to continue growing and serving even more families throughout our community. Thank you for growing with us and supporting our mission! 💜

💜 A Huge Thank You to Our Sponsors! 💜

It’s sponsorships like this that make a HUGE impact! These industrial shelves have helped us better sort, organize, and store donations and outreach supplies inside our storage container while making a huge difference behind the scenes for our volunteers and outreach efforts. 🙌💜💚

These shelves have helped tremendously, and we are so thankful for this blessing. As our outreach continues growing, we are now fundraising and exploring additional storage solutions so we can continue serving families and organizing donations efficiently. What a blessing that is to witness. 💜

💜 Oak Grove Community Closet — More Than FREE Clothing💜

Oak Grove Community Closet is a nonprofit recycle, refresh & re-bless outreach program operating under Oak Grove Baptist Church and serving families through King George, Colonial Beach, and surrounding communities within the Northern Neck.

Officially approved on July 7, 2025, launched on August 24, 2025, and holding our very first large FREE giveaway event on October 18, 2025, what started as a simple vision to help others has quickly grown into a community-wide outreach of compassion, hope, and support.

We are making a HUGE impact serving families through FREE clothing, shoes, coats, and essentials outreach efforts.

Oak Grove Community Closet was inspired by previous outreach leadership experience serving a similar community program in Northern Virginia and a passion for bringing that same heart for helping others to families throughout the Northern Neck community.

Sometimes families simply need a little extra help, relief from financial strain, or even just a simple closet refresh and that is exactly why this program was created. Our mission is for everyone in the community to feel welcome using our services, whether for themselves or someone they know who could benefit from them.

Our heart and mission is for everyone in the community to feel welcome to use our services, including yourself or someone you may know who could benefit from them. With the support of Oak Grove Baptist Church providing our home base, an incredible and still-growing team of dedicated volunteers, donors, sponsors, community partnerships, the Oak Grove Baptist Church Food Pantry partnership, and most importantly God’s guidance, this outreach has grown quicker than we ever imagined.

We are truly humbled and grateful for the overwhelming support from this community. The impact has already been such an incredible blessing, and we haven’t even been open a full year yet.

The best is yet to come for Oak Grove Community Closet, and we are only getting started. With continued support from volunteers, donors, sponsors, partnerships, funding, prayers, and our surrounding communities, even more families can continue to be blessed through this growing outreach program.

✨ Faith Shirt Finds at Oak Grove Community Closet ✨

One special little challenge we’ve started while sorting donations at the Oak Grove Community Closet is taking photos anytime we come across a faith-based shirt or scripture message. 💜

Sometimes it’s the smallest reminders that speak the loudest. These shirts are a beautiful reminder of just how amazing God is and how He continues to guide our steps through this mission each and every day. 🙏🏻

We never know what message someone may need to hear at just the right moment. ❤️

This past Saturday, May 16th, a wonderful community pop-up event took place where families could receive FREE food, FREE clothing and shoes, along with samples of FREE feminine hygiene products from our friend Miss Barbara Gay, Girl’s Zone a growing organization working hard to support women and girls throughout our surrounding communities.

The event was a huge success and, by estimate, over 100 families were served throughout the day. ❤️

Oak Grove Community Closet was honored to support Miss Barbara Gay and Girl’s Zone during the event. We were happy to donate 14 packs of thin pads to help support her mission of providing feminine hygiene products and essentials to women and girls in need. It was truly wonderful seeing so many people come out to support her cause, learn more about available community resources, and encourage one another. 💕

It was also great seeing organizations such as: FXBG Free Closet, Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, and King George Community Closet represented during the event as well. Seeing different organizations throughout our surrounding areas finding ways to serve, encourage, and help families within the community is truly a blessing to witness.

There is so much need within our communities right now, and it is encouraging to see people stepping forward with caring hearts and a willingness to help others. Every act of kindness, donation, volunteer hour, partnership, and outreach effort can make a difference in someone’s life. ❤️

Thank you to all of the organizations, volunteers, donors, and community members who came out to support this event and make it such a success.
