Today marks the anniversary of a horrific choking accident I suffered as a toddler in 1978, and I'll never stop being grateful for the medical team that saved me against impossible odds. I was without breathing and heartbeat for about an hour, something that has about a 100% death rate for adults. I poured SO much gratitude into "Aria", my St. Patty's day coat, and in celebration of stealing yet another year from the Grim Reaper, had a fantabulous time at our local paradeπŸ₯³. I was overjoyed to see some of mi gente from MΓ©xico there as everyone in the USA from Ireland... is an immigrant! Imagine that. πŸ˜‰

To grateful to be hateful? OH HECK YEAH, I've got that achievement 100% unlocked😎. Much love to my neighbors, regardless of where you came from. I buy sequins by the pound, and my Land 'O Sparkles has plenty for all!

Inspired by the haunting Ukranian lyrics by Korolova, Rokston & Go-A. 🎡 I could not make a blue and gold coat without my thoughts constantly going back to the horrific invasion of Ukraine and the devastation and destruction their people have been forced to endure.

Out of the studio today in support of working people and immigrants, and I HAD to share a work-in-progress photo of "Monarch". Monarch butterflies, along with SO many other species, migrate and we don't get angry at them for coming to us from somewhere else. I yearn for the day that we are not so obsessed with artificial borders but simply learn to enjoy life's journeys.

I'm ALL about second chances. Everything I make is made using secondhand materials that otherwise would have gone into the landfill, that are living a way, WAY better life the second time around because someone had faith they could be more than what they were yesterday.
