A four-week turnaround. A nationals deadline. A nine-year-old who knew exactly what she wanted. That’s all we needed.
She came with a song title, a color, and a dream. We came with a sketch, a plan, and endless supplies.
Hand-cut fringe. Machine-set rhinestones. Every technique chosen for a reason. The feathers and fringe are ours — the mom will add more rhinestones later, because some costumes are a collaboration between the maker and the people who love her most.
The two-piece was her mom’s idea. Smart call. We left extra length in the front so the costume grows with her. The details nobody sees are just as intentional as the ones everybody does.
Final fitting: Starbucks bathroom. Mobile studio open. A few adjustments and a quick hairpiece. Done.
She’s going to nationals. She’s ready. 🎀
