On Mondays we grind. Recently we’ve had several pairs of Arizona sandals that have cracked right in front of the front strap. This is not typical of the Arizona line as their stress point isn’t as focused as on the Mayari. On these last two (2) I’ve worked on the culprit is dried out cork. Once that sheen wears off the cork it becomes compromised. Heat, water, UV, and other elements break it down very quickly. Cork sealer is your friend!

As we get ready for USA's 250th celebration we've got several vendors partnering with us for a free giveaway. One of those is Carolina Boot Co. and Double H Boot Co. They both still produce boots Made in the USA! People often ask us if we’re afraid that Amazon will eventually run us out of business. We always answer the same, “Not really”. Yes they’ve got us beat with their next day shipping and their return policy is pretty good too. But, just today we’ve helped three (3) people from our community with fitting and trying out some shoes to get what works best for them. Small town, locally owned business is rarely about making maximum money, and way more about making a connection. This building has helped build a lot of connections and we know a lot of other ones around town that have too! This summer when you’re bored at home, come down and walk the shops. You may hear a little town gossip, find a contact for “that guy” that fixes things, maybe a hilarious story, or even discover that long-lost relative you never knew you had!

Charlie and Cooper recently held a staff meeting without us being present, and voted unanimously to shut down shop on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th. They’ve also made arrangements with their human sister to have a long play-date with their four-legged nephews while we take a mini vacation during Old Setter’s week from June 15th to June 20th. Apparently we need to keep a better eye on them, but we’ll go along with their plans this time. 🤣 Because as you can see from the picture, it’s a bit hard to say no when they act all innocent.
We appreciate you all and hope that you have a fantastic holiday weekend! 🥰
