This morning I completed my third “Emily Trapezoid Tote Bag,” this one being my second medium size, and it will go into consignment Friday.

The exterior is made from light gray vinyl and home decor weight fabric. There are two outside pockets, onto which I embroidered an extra butterfly and dragonfly. The interior is white and has a pocket for a water bottle, a key keeper, and a slip pocket with a zipper pocket on one of the sides. It zips across the top and has snaps inside the sides to compress them when the extra space is not needed.

It took quite some time and a lot of materials to put together, and I think I’ll price it at $60, which is a steal.

What do you do when it’s 99° outside with a heat index of 111? I don’t know about you, but I head down to the basement and start creating things.

This is the “Emily“ bag that I just finished, the pattern from Ellie & Mac. The pattern has two sizes, but I made the large one first and it’s with made with materials I already had on hand. It can hold everything I need for teaching my Water Fitness classes – assuming I ever get back to doing so – and more!

It has two exterior slip pockets, one large interior slip pocket with a smaller zip pocket, and two – count them, two! – pockets for water bottles. (I put my shoes in them and my water bottle in the slip pocket.) The sides have magnetic snaps inside for when you don’t need as much space, there is a tab with a D ring for keys, and everything zips closed for security.
