This collection is one of the more incredible time capsules that we have come across. An amazing snapshot of Columbus, GA. in 1917 that will be for sale in our auction that begins tonight!

The story goes like this…

George Pearce, director of City Mills, announced the wedding of Tom Andrews Jr. and his daughter Mabel Pearce at their home on Second Avenue on February 28th 1917. It was described by the Ledge Enquirer as the greatest wedding of the year and all the who’s who were there. The wedding album shows original signatures from W.C. Bradley, The Bickerstaff’s, Mobley’s, Schomburg’s, Illges’ and more. This collection includes a stunning beaded flapper dress, original bridal crown made of fresh flowers, numerous love letters between the happy couple, the wedding album which is a treasure trove of mementos from the era and a box of lace baby bonnets.

It is something that you are likely not to see again.
