A little before and after. The dark cherry just wasn’t working for me and neither were those batwing drawer pulls. If you know me, you know they’re my absolute least favorite. To make matters worse, the drawer pulls were 2 different sizes so I couldn’t just order all new matching ones sooooo, I had to fill some of the old hardware holes and drill new ones . After sanding and spot glazing some deep scratches and gouges, I primed and sprayed on one of my favorite neutral colors, Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Dhurrie Beige. Its in the store now and available for purchase 🙂

Brought in this beautiful vintage Bassett 10 drawer dresser yesterday. I absolutely love the lines on this dresser and the creamy beige color is one of my favorites 💕 It’s Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane cabinet paint in the color Dhurrie Beige. Once this paint is fully cured, it’s very durable. I also added all new hardware for a more updated look. The top 3 drawers had some damage on the inside so they’ve been line with a complimentary liner. I did not line the other 7 drawers because they are clean and I HATE putting in drawer liners so I only do it when necessary 😂 plus that would have just added to the cost of the dresser. Approx dimensions are 66” long 19 1/2” deep, 34” tall.
Consider this one if you’re in the market for a dresser or tell a friend that might be looking for one😉

Kenneth Eugene “Daddy O” McClure, 86, of Salem, AL died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM (EST) on Monday, August 31, 2026, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Railroad Chaplain Larkin Trainham officiating. The Railroad Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Newsome Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. McClure was born on December 07, 1939, in Columbus, GA, son of the late DeWitt Andrew McClure, Sr. and Agnes Newsome McClure. He had retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as an engineer after 39 years of service. “Daddy O” as he was known by friends and family, loved bluegrass music. He enjoyed listening to music and playing the guitar and strum stick as well. Mr. McClure was also known as the “Fireman” as he cut many a cord of firewood to provide to friends and neighbors as a gift. In his younger days he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and even won a dirt bike race or two.
Daddy O spent many peaceful hours on his porch enjoying the hummingbirds and his faithful companions, Fluffy the dog and Ms. Kitty the cat.
Preceded in death by his parents, DeWitt and Agnes McClure; his wife, Kathleen Mary Foley McClure; siblings, Peggy McClure, Doris McClure Taft and Dewitt Andrew McClure, Jr; a grandson, Michael Kaleb McClure.
Survivors include his children, Margaret Leah Adams and husband Andrew, Lisa Diann Tadlock, Joseph Eugene McClure, Bonny Howell and husband David, Karl McClure, and Alan McClure and wife Donna; sisters, Patricia Smith and Diann Cannon; brothers, Charles McClure (Kathy), Dennis McClure (Alice) and Joseph “Red” McClure; grandchildren, Zachary Tadlock and his wife, Tiffany, Matthew Woodsworth, Gabrielle McClure, Taylor Eaton, and Erin Howell; great grandchildren, Coldin Howell and Raelynn Tadlock; a host of nieces, nephews, numerous extended family members, and many caring friends.

Took this beautiful blue set into the store yesterday. The dresser and nightstand have sold but the chest on chest is available. It’s big, solid, and has 6 drawers that slide with ease. Dove tailed drawers and updated hardware. Come check it out 👀

I was short 3 drawer pulls for the dresser but they’re scheduled to be delivered today 🤞 This is a clean, solid, vintage set that has tons of storage and years of life left to give. Tops were sanded to bare wood, stained and sealed for protection. They are priced individually so if you’re looking for a set, act fast.

Just left this old girl in the store….she’s looking for her next home. I’m gonna miss this one. Something about it has my heart. It might be those sweet details along the bottom…..or it might be the sweat and hard work reviving the top. Either way, it’s a jewel and it’s ready for many more years of use.
