The Philippines and Mexico have several similarities cutlurally from the colonial rule of Spain, religion and characteristics of our people. With that, PEARLS expands to Mexico as we celebrate its people, their history and culture.

Positions like these demand emotional stability, sound judgment, and self control because one reckless decision can change lives forever.

When those standards fail, the consequences aren’t just personal, they can become irreversible.

The truth is, I’m proud to be Mexican, even though I’ve often felt like I walk between two worlds. 🇲🇽🇺🇸

In Mexico, because I don’t speak perfect Spanish, people call me a pocho or a gr**go. In the United States, because I’m brown and Mexican, they call me a 🌊 back.

But I don’t need anyone’s approval to know who I am.

I was born in Mexico, and life brought me to the United States, where I, quote unquote, became a Chicano.

I’m no less Mexican because I grew up here, and I’m no less Chicano because I was born there.

I am the pride of two histories.
I truly am my ancestors’ wildest dreams.
And that’s why I’m Brown N Proud.
