Hello friends!
I’m sure a few of you have noticed that our posts have been few and far between for the past month or so. There’s a reason for that and I’ve been struggling with it a little - but, I’ve thought long and hard on this and am ready to announce that Philip Kay Designs will be closing.
I’m incredibly grateful for the reception and support you all have shown me over the past year! I’ve loved every photo shared with me, every tag, every post, like and reaction!
Sewing has been my joy, my hobby, my way to relax and have a little kid-free time (and as any parent knows, that’s crucial for your sanity and sometimes hard to come by!). My biggest concern when deciding to open my shop was that I would lose that feeling of joy & that 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 to sew and create.. and my fear began to materialize. The amount of orders became a little overwhelming (please know that I am in no way complaining about that - I truly, truly appreciate every single order!) and I have lost that feeling of wanting to create for my own kiddos & my family.
Because of this, I’ve made the tough decision to shut down Philip Kay Designs. I’m proud of myself for each step of this: deciding to open & grow a fabulous group of people who love PKD, but also of knowing that this isn’t the right avenue for me at this stage of life. Who knows, maybe I’ll be back in a few years when my children don’t want to wear mama-made clothing! 😉 You never know what the future holds… but for now, it’s time to say thank you, and goodbye!
