What would be the perfect car to park in front of this and snap a photo? Mid-Century buildings and signage like this are very cool

Guarantee that there is about 8 bucks in change in that thing, some old cheetos, a few bic pens and a crumpled up TV Guide wedged between the cushions.

Construction of the Palomar Observatory, San Diego County (1948)

workers atop Palomar Mountain carefully hoisted and assembled the final pieces of what would become one of the world’s most advanced astronomical observatories. The massive dome of the Palomar Observatory rose against the clear blue sky, housing a 200-inch telescope that would open new frontiers in space exploration. Scientists and engineers monitored every step of the process, while steel beams and curved tracks filled the surrounding site. The observatory stood as a symbol of American innovation, built in the quiet wilderness with a mission to reach the stars.
