I could bathe in this booth photo for the rest of my life. Bask in it like sunshine. My only pop-up of the year. ⁣

I’d been building my pop-up set for nearly 10 years. Carefully saving for each piece... and this past year I really felt it complete & was just so proud. And my sewing.... self-taught. Before there were templates and YouTube tutorials, I studied and experimented e n d l e s s l y to figure it all out. ⁣
Self-drafted patterns that had been perfected, with an ex*****on that I was so proud of. ⁣
I leaned more into what I desired to make, & less in custom orders. It breathed the life back into me. My vision came to life. ⁣
And in that moment it ALL felt right.⁣

+(Not that customs aren’t the bees knees, I just got to work for me, & that felt hella good)+⁣
⁣
Pop-ups are my favorite, online is my least favorite part of this process. So it really feels like a treasure to have had this moment with you all. ⁣

Still finding balance and rhythm in a time that has this creative really searching for what’s best for her family & her own capacity. ⁣⁣
-Sneaking in moments of creativity just isn’t enough to float this dream.⁣⁣
And honestly, it just didn’t feel right to ask people to buy swimwear when lots are struggling to buy food. ⁣⁣
Rest assured, I’m not done. I can’t extinguish this fire.⁣⁣
I can carry a lot... and make it look light as a feather. But this year has been so heavy. {For us all} ⁣⁣
In any form of art I create, it directly comes from my heart. Every time. ⁣⁣
I’ve been saying I wish I could remove my emotion from it, just be business only. A machine. ⁣⁣
I can’t. Because like I said, everything I create comes from a place of love and deep connection. Not only that, but it also takes those things from the people around me.... and my people need me so much.⁣⁣

This post isn’t really for me though, it’s for all the other small businesses out there today Saturday hustling as hard as they can to keep their dreams alive, food on their table & a roof above their heads. ⁣⁣

All the love wrapped in one pretty skirt. Yep, sad to say but I only had enough fabric left for ONE. See the previous post for this fabrics past life.

Rest assured I’ll keep looking for a comparable fabric to make more of these lovely skirts. But for now, should I save this one for the market in March , or let y’all fight over it now?
