Why Do You Need Multiple Eyeglasses? Over 30 years, Sue Optical have seen many clients who benefit from having several eyeglasses. Here are your 5 Tips:

1. Contact Lense Wearers love to get their updated rx filled at Sue Optical. After wearing CLs all day, It is best to let your corneas rest and breath. Switching to wearing your eyeglasses after a long day of wearing CL allows your eyes to breath. The natural production of tears bring oxygen to the eyes. Your corneas have time to heal and feel refresh for the following day. On the otherhand, your eyes will required a rest from wearing CLs if you have Pink Eyes, Dry Eyes or an Abrassion.

2. With a Second Pair of the same prescription, you will not be found stumbling to do your daily routine if the first one is broken. It usualy takes 4-7 days to get a replacement rxglasses. Don't forget! Bring them in to Sue Optical. We will see if we can repair them for you!

3. In Sunny California, we all need to wear proper Sunglasses with the proper tint and coating to filter out the harmful UV radiation that comes from the sun. If you use sun block to protect your skin, it would make sense the importance of wearing a quality pair of Sunglasses to protect your eyes.

4. Comptuter Rx Glasses as well as Reading Glasses are so essential in today's work or home environment. The digital screens from your phone, notebooks to watching your flatscreen TV are all emitting the invisible blue light that are very harmful to your retina. Over time, blue light exposure damages retinal cells. This contributes to or causes vision problems including age-related macular degeneration. Having a pair of computer glasses to do work at the computer is essential. These glasses with the blue block coating and anti-reflective protects you from eyestrain and even headaches.

5. Sport Glasses with safety performance lenses help athletes from unnecessary sport-related eye injuries. Ask Sue Optical on the type of proper eyewear for your type of sports.

Information on harmful blue lights above was gathered from Charlotteoptometry.com article on "How Does Blue Light Danage Your Eye" April 10th 2018.

5 Tips on How to Clean Your Eyeglasses:

1. We are advised to wash our hands throughly after using the bathroom. So should we be advised to wash our glasses after our hands are cleaned. Make it a habit! We go to the bathroom at least 3-4 times daily. Wash your glasses after you wash your hands.

2. Run warm water over your glasses, front and back of the lenses to get rid of dust and tiny sand particles that will scratch your lenses. Water should be as warm as your hand can handle. The warm water move the dirt and grease before applying soap.

3. Put 1-2 drops of dish soap on the soft padded finger tips. Gently rub to lather the soap. Gently rub it over the lens surfaces, the frame, hinges and temples. (I sing the children's ABC song while washing my glasses.)

4. Rinse throughly using warm water. As warm as your hand can handle.

5. Most public bathrooms have papertowel for you to dry your hand after washing. If you do not have the microfiber lens cloth to dry your glasses off, you can dry them by shaking off excess water droplets on the papertowel. Then gently fold paper towel in half so you can "dab" the front and back lenses. Never use papertowel to wipe your lenses. They are made out of wood and will scratch your lenses. DAB ONLY!! Press the papertowel against the front and back lenses lightly to soak up excess water droplets. You can use the papertowel to dry off your frames and temples as well.
