It was December 2020, in the middle of a full-blown pandemic, and I was in Fort Worth, Texas, working at the National Finals Rodeo. Next to my booth was a wonderful couple, Jim and Kathy Sigle. They showcased some of the most amazing Western art I had ever seen.
I was captivated by the way Kathy’s horse paintings seemed to flow right out of the canvas. They almost appeared three-dimensional. The colors, movement, and detail were incredibly lifelike, and I was truly impressed.
I introduced myself, and we spent time talking throughout the event. By the end of the ten-day show, I suggested that we explore a partnership. I had a vision of transforming Kathy’s incredible artwork into handbags.
A few weeks later, Kathy sent me some of her canvas artwork, and together we created a collection of handcrafted leather purses.
Today, nearly six years later, I look back and realize what a blessing that meeting was. I had the opportunity to meet such talented and genuine people. As fellow artisans, we share a passion for color, creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. That shared vision helped make this unique collection a success.
