What do alterations professionals do in the "off season"? Aside from getting a start on the spring brides, and plenty of winter formalwear and casual wear, I present this: the things I do in the few quiet moments here. Featuring: Fixing my son's pants (you know what they say about the cobbler's children!), the yearly chair caster clean-out (those aren't my good scissors!), and some Angel Dress donations (made from discarded pieces of fabric from client gowns, so thank you!). Never a dull moment at the Hellmann Creative Center !

Another interesting project this year! The bride came in with this beautiful Barbara Kavchok dress that had a big poofy train and wanted the train removed. Sure thing! It was a challenge because of the amount of fabric and bagged bubble hem, but it looked amazing on her.

One of my favorite projects this year! This 1960's vintage bridal gown was re-made into a baby christening gown as a very special Christmas gift! It turned out beautifully.

Waterfall bustle on a Disney Cinderella bridal gown. There was a whole lot of tulle on this train! The waterfall bustle helped manage it better without losing the effect.
